These
ا-ي-ا

ءَايَٰتُ
اٰیٰتُ
āyātu
(are the) verses
ك-ت-ب
![]()
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
الْكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
(of) the Book
ح-ك-م
![]()
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
الْحَكِیْمِ
l-ḥakīmi
the wise.
A.L.R.: These are the signs of the decisive scripture.

Is it

لِلنَّاسِ

for the mankind
ع-ج-ب

عَجَبًا
ʿajaban
a wonder
ا-ن
![]()
أَنۡ
اَنْ
an
that
و-ح-ي
![]()
أَوۡحَيۡنَآ
اَوْحَیْنَاۤ
awḥaynā
We revealed
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَىٰ
اِلٰی
ilā
to
ر-ج-ل
![]()
رَجُلٖ
رَجُلٍ
rajulin
a man
م-ن
![]()
مِّنۡهُمۡ
مِّنْهُمْ
min'hum
from (among) them
ا-ن
![]()
أَنۡ
اَنْ
an
that,
ن-ذ-ر
![]()
أَنذِرِ
اَنْذِرِ
andhiri
"Warn
ن-و-س
![]()
ٱلنَّاسَ
النَّاسَ
n-nāsa
the mankind
ب-ش-ر
![]()
وَبَشِّرِ
وَبَشِّرِ
wabashiri
and give glad tidings
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
(to) those who
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
اٰمَنُوْۤا
āmanū
believe
ا-ن-ن
![]()
أَنَّ
اَنَّ
anna
that
ل
![]()
لَهُمۡ
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
ق-د-م
![]()
قَدَمَ
قَدَمَ
qadama
(will be) a respectable position
ص-د-ق
![]()
صِدۡقٍ
صِدْقٍ
ṣid'qin
(will be) a respectable position
ع-ن-د
![]()
عِندَ
عِنْدَ
ʿinda
near
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبِّهِمۡۗ
رَبِّهِمْ ؔؕ—
rabbihim
their Lord?"
ق-و-ل
![]()
قَالَ
قَالَ
qāla
Said
ك-ف-ر
![]()
ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
الْكٰفِرُوْنَ
l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers,
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
"Indeed,
ه-ا-ذ
![]()
هَٰذَا
هٰذَا
hādhā
this
س-ح-ر
![]()
لَسَٰحِرٞ
لَسٰحِرٌ
lasāḥirun
(is) surely a magician
ب-ي-ن
![]()
مُّبِينٌ
مُّبِیْنٌ
mubīnun
obvious."
It is a wonder to people that We inspired a man from among them to warn humanity and bring believers the good news that there is a state of reality for them in the presence of their Lord. Scoffers say, “This is an obvious enchanter!”

your Lord
ا-ل-ه

اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
(is) Allah
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِي
الَّذِیْ
alladhī
the One Who
خ-ل-ق
![]()
خَلَقَ
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
the heavens
ا-ر-ض
![]()
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
وَالْاَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
س-ت-ت
![]()
سِتَّةِ
سِتَّةِ
sittati
six
ي-و-م
![]()
أَيَّامٖ
اَیَّامٍ
ayyāmin
periods,
ث-م-م
![]()
ثُمَّ
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
س-و-ي
![]()
ٱسۡتَوَىٰ
اسْتَوٰی
is'tawā
He established
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَى
عَلَی
ʿalā
on
ع-ر-ش
![]()
ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ
الْعَرْشِ
l-ʿarshi
the Throne,
د-ب-ر
![]()
يُدَبِّرُ
یُدَبِّرُ
yudabbiru
disposing
ا-م-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأَمۡرَۖ
الْاَمْرَ ؕ—
l-amra
the affairs.
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
Not
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
(is) any intercessor
ش-ف-ع
![]()
شَفِيعٍ
شَفِیْعٍ
shafīʿin
(is) any intercessor
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّا
اِلَّا
illā
except
م-ن
![]()
مِنۢ
مِنْ
min
after
ب-ع-د
![]()
بَعۡدِ
بَعْدِ
baʿdi
after
ا-ذ-ن
![]()
إِذۡنِهِۦۚ
اِذْنِهٖ ؕ—
idh'nihi
His permission.
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكُمُ
ذٰلِكُمُ
dhālikumu
That
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
(is) Allah,
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبُّكُمۡ
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukum
your Lord,
ع-ب-د
![]()
فَٱعۡبُدُوهُۚ
فَاعْبُدُوْهُ ؕ—
fa-uʿ'budūhu
so worship Him.
ل-ا
![]()
أَفَلَا
اَفَلَا
afalā
Then will not
ذ-ك-ر
![]()
تَذَكَّرُونَ
تَذَكَّرُوْنَ
tadhakkarūna
you remember?
Your Lord is the God who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then mounted the throne, managing the order. There is no intercessor but on condition of divine permission. That is God for you, your Lord—so serve God. Won’t you remain mindful?

To Him,

مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
marjiʿukum
(will be) your return
ج-م-ع
![]()
جَمِيعٗاۖ
جَمِیْعًا ؕ—
jamīʿan
[all].
و-ع-د
![]()
وَعۡدَ
وَعْدَ
waʿda
Promise
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
ح-ق-ق
![]()
حَقًّاۚ
حَقًّا ؕ—
ḥaqqan
(is) true.
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّهُۥ
اِنَّهٗ
innahu
Indeed, He
ب-د-ا
![]()
يَبۡدَؤُاْ
یَبْدَؤُا
yabda-u
originates
خ-ل-ق
![]()
ٱلۡخَلۡقَ
الْخَلْقَ
l-khalqa
the creation,
ث-م-م
![]()
ثُمَّ
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
ع-و-د
![]()
يُعِيدُهُۥ
یُعِیْدُهٗ
yuʿīduhu
He repeats it,
ج-ز-ي
![]()
لِيَجۡزِيَ
لِیَجْزِیَ
liyajziya
that He may reward
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
believed
ع-م-ل
![]()
وَعَمِلُواْ
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and did
ص-ل-ح
![]()
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
ṣ-ṣāliḥāti
the good deeds,
ق-س-ط
![]()
بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۚ
بِالْقِسْطِ ؕ—
bil-qis'ṭi
in justice.
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
وَٱلَّذِينَ
وَالَّذِیْنَ
wa-alladhīna
But those who
ك-ف-ر
![]()
كَفَرُواْ
كَفَرُوْا
kafarū
disbelieved,
ل
![]()
لَهُمۡ
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
ش-ر-ب
![]()
شَرَابٞ
شَرَابٌ
sharābun
(will be) a drink
م-ن
![]()
مِّنۡ
مِّنْ
min
of
ح-م-م
![]()
حَمِيمٖ
حَمِیْمٍ
ḥamīmin
boiling fluids
ع-ذ-ب
![]()
وَعَذَابٌ
وَّعَذَابٌ
waʿadhābun
and a punishment
ا-ل-م
![]()
أَلِيمُۢ
اَلِیْمٌ
alīmun
painful,
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
because
ك-و-ن
![]()
كَانُواْ
كَانُوْا
kānū
they used (to)
ك-ف-ر
![]()
يَكۡفُرُونَ
یَكْفُرُوْنَ
yakfurūna
disbelieve.
It is to God that you return, all: the promise of God is true. For it is God who begins the creation, and then repeats it to reward with justice those who have faith and do good works. As for those who scoff, they’ll have a drink of scalding water, and a painful penalty for disbelieving.

ٱلشَّمۡسَ
الشَّمْسَ
sh-shamsa
the sun
ض-و-ا

ضِيَآءٗ
ضِیَآءً
ḍiyāan
a shining light,
ق-م-ر
![]()
وَٱلۡقَمَرَ
وَّالْقَمَرَ
wal-qamara
and the moon
ن-و-ر
![]()
نُورٗا
نُوْرًا
nūran
a reflected light
ق-د-ر
![]()
وَقَدَّرَهُۥ
وَّقَدَّرَهٗ
waqaddarahu
and determined for it
ن-ز-ل
![]()
مَنَازِلَ
مَنَازِلَ
manāzila
phases,
ع-ل-م
![]()
لِتَعۡلَمُواْ
لِتَعْلَمُوْا
litaʿlamū
that you may know
ع-د-د
![]()
عَدَدَ
عَدَدَ
ʿadada
(the) number
س-ن-و
![]()
ٱلسِّنِينَ
السِّنِیْنَ
s-sinīna
(of) the years
ح-س-ب
![]()
وَٱلۡحِسَابَۚ
وَالْحِسَابَ ؕ—
wal-ḥisāba
and the count (of time).
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
Not
خ-ل-ق
![]()
خَلَقَ
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكَ
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّا
اِلَّا
illā
except
ح-ق-ق
![]()
بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ
بِالْحَقِّ ۚ—
bil-ḥaqi
in truth.
ف-ص-ل
![]()
يُفَصِّلُ
یُفَصِّلُ
yufaṣṣilu
He explains
ا-ي-ا
![]()
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
الْاٰیٰتِ
l-āyāti
the Signs
ق-و-م
![]()
لِقَوۡمٖ
لِقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
ع-ل-م
![]()
يَعۡلَمُونَ
یَّعْلَمُوْنَ
yaʿlamūna
(who) know.
It is God who has made the sun shine and the moon glow, and determined lunar phases that you may know the number of the years, and the calculation. God did not create that in any way but right; God makes these signs clear to people who discern.

(the) alternation
ل-ي-ل

ٱلَّيۡلِ
الَّیْلِ
al-layli
(of) the night
ن-ه-ر
![]()
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
وَالنَّهَارِ
wan-nahāri
and the day
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
and what
خ-ل-ق
![]()
خَلَقَ
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
Allah has created
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah has created
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
in
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
the heavens,
ا-ر-ض
![]()
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَالْاَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
ا-ي-ا
![]()
لَأٓيَٰتٖ
لَاٰیٰتٍ
laāyātin
(are) Signs
ق-و-م
![]()
لِّقَوۡمٖ
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
و-ق-ي
![]()
يَتَّقُونَ
یَّتَّقُوْنَ
yattaqūna
who are God conscious.
For in the alternation of night and day, and what God has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for conscientious people.

ا-ن-ن

Indeed,
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ

those who
ل-ا

لَا

lā
(do) not
ر-ج-و

يَرۡجُونَ
یَرْجُوْنَ
yarjūna
expect
ل-ق-ي
![]()
لِقَآءَنَا
لِقَآءَنَا
liqāanā
the meeting with Us
ر-ض-و
![]()
وَرَضُواْ
وَرَضُوْا
waraḍū
and are pleased
ح-ي-ي
![]()
بِٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
بِالْحَیٰوةِ
bil-ḥayati
with the life
د-ن-و
![]()
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
الدُّنْیَا
d-dun'yā
(of) the world,
ط-م-ن
![]()
وَٱطۡمَأَنُّواْ
وَاطْمَاَنُّوْا
wa-iṭ'ma-annū
and feel satisfied
ب
![]()
بِهَا
بِهَا
bihā
with it
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
وَٱلَّذِينَ
وَالَّذِیْنَ
wa-alladhīna
and those -
ه-م
![]()
هُمۡ
هُمْ
hum
they
ع-ن
![]()
عَنۡ
عَنْ
ʿan
(are) of
ا-ي-ا
![]()
ءَايَٰتِنَا
اٰیٰتِنَا
āyātinā
Our Signs,
غ-ف-ل
![]()
غَٰفِلُونَ
غٰفِلُوْنَ
ghāfilūna
heedless.
As for those who do not look forward to meeting Us, but are pleased with the life of this world and satisfied with it, and those who are heedless of Our signs,

ا-و-ل-ا

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ
ulāika
Those -
ا-و-ي
![]()
مَأۡوَىٰهُمُ
مَاْوٰىهُمُ
mawāhumu
their abode
ن-و-ر
![]()
ٱلنَّارُ
النَّارُ
n-nāru
(will be) the Fire,
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
for what
ك-و-ن
![]()
كَانُواْ
كَانُوْا
kānū
they used (to)
ك-س-ب
![]()
يَكۡسِبُونَ
یَكْسِبُوْنَ
yaksibūna
earn.
their abode is the fire, on account of what they have earned.

ا-ن-ن

Indeed,
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
believed
ع-م-ل
![]()
وَعَمِلُواْ
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and did
ص-ل-ح
![]()
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
ṣ-ṣāliḥāti
good deeds,
ه-د-ي
![]()
يَهۡدِيهِمۡ
یَهْدِیْهِمْ
yahdīhim
(will) guide them
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبُّهُم
رَبُّهُمْ
rabbuhum
their Lord,
ا-م-ن
![]()
بِإِيمَٰنِهِمۡۖ
بِاِیْمَانِهِمْ ۚ—
biīmānihim
by their faith.
ج-ر-ي
![]()
تَجۡرِي
تَجْرِیْ
tajrī
Will flow
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
from
ت-ح-ت
![]()
تَحۡتِهِمُ
تَحْتِهِمُ
taḥtihimu
underneath them
ن-ه-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
الْاَنْهٰرُ
l-anhāru
the rivers,
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
ج-ن-ن
![]()
جَنَّٰتِ
جَنّٰتِ
jannāti
Gardens
ن-ع-م
![]()
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
النَّعِیْمِ
n-naʿīmi
(of) Delight.
As for those who believe and do good works, their Lord will guide them through their faith; rivers will flow below them, in gardens of felicity.

د-ع-و

دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ
دَعْوٰىهُمْ
daʿwāhum
Their prayer
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَا
فِیْهَا
fīhā
therein
س-ب-ح
![]()
سُبۡحَٰنَكَ
سُبْحٰنَكَ
sub'ḥānaka
(will be), "Glory be to You,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُمَّ
اللّٰهُمَّ
l-lahuma
O Allah!"
ح-ي-ي
![]()
وَتَحِيَّتُهُمۡ
وَتَحِیَّتُهُمْ
wataḥiyyatuhum
And their greeting
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَا
فِیْهَا
fīhā
therein (will be),
س-ل-م
![]()
سَلَٰمٞۚ
سَلٰمٌ ۚ—
salāmun
"Peace."
ا-خ-ر
![]()
وَءَاخِرُ
وَاٰخِرُ
waākhiru
And the last
د-ع-و
![]()
دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ
دَعْوٰىهُمْ
daʿwāhum
(of) their call
ا-ن
![]()
أَنِ
اَنِ
ani
(will be) [that]
ح-م-د
![]()
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ
الْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu
"All the Praise be
ا-ل-ه
![]()
لِلَّهِ
لِلّٰهِ
lillahi
to Allah,
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبِّ
رَبِّ
rabbi
Lord
ع-ل-م
![]()
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
الْعٰلَمِیْنَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds."
Their call there will be, “Glory to You, O God!” And their greeting there will be “Peace.” And the close of their call will be, “All praise is for God, Lord of all worlds.”
