sabbaḥa
Glorifies
ا-ل-ه

لِلَّهِ
لِلّٰهِ
lillahi
[to] Allah
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
whatever
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
(is) in
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
the heavens
ا-ر-ض
![]()
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
وَالْاَرْضِ ۚ—
wal-arḍi
and the earth,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ع-ز-ز
![]()
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
الْعَزِیْزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty,
ح-ك-م
![]()
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
الْحَكِیْمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise.
Everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies God, the almighty, the supremely wise,

For Him
م-ل-ك

مُلۡكُ
مُلْكُ
mul'ku
(is the) dominion
س-م-و

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
ا-ر-ض
![]()
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
وَالْاَرْضِ ۚ—
wal-arḍi
and the earth,
ح-ي-ي
![]()
يُحۡيِۦ
یُحْیٖ
yuḥ'yī
He gives life
م-و-ت
![]()
وَيُمِيتُۖ
وَیُمِیْتُ ۚ—
wayumītu
and causes death,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَىٰ
عَلٰی
ʿalā
(is) over
ك-ل-ل
![]()
كُلِّ
كُلِّ
kulli
all
ش-ي-ا
![]()
شَيۡءٖ
شَیْءٍ
shayin
things
ق-د-ر
![]()
قَدِيرٌ
قَدِیْرٌ
qadīrun
All-Powerful.
ruler of the heavens and the earth, who gives life and causes death, and who is in control of every thing;

(is) the First
ا-خ-ر

and the Last,
ظ-ه-ر
![]()
وَٱلظَّٰهِرُ
وَالظَّاهِرُ
waẓ-ẓāhiru
and the Apparent
ب-ط-ن
![]()
وَٱلۡبَاطِنُۖ
وَالْبَاطِنُ ۚ—
wal-bāṭinu
and the Unapparent,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ك-ل-ل
![]()
بِكُلِّ
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
(is) of every
ش-ي-ا
![]()
شَيۡءٍ
شَیْءٍ
shayin
thing
ع-ل-م
![]()
عَلِيمٌ
عَلِیْمٌ
ʿalīmun
All-Knower.
the first and the last, the outward and the inward. God knows everything.

and the earth

fī
in
س-ت-ت

سِتَّةِ
سِتَّةِ
sittati
six
ي-و-م
![]()
أَيَّامٖ
اَیَّامٍ
ayyāmin
periods,
ث-م-م
![]()
ثُمَّ
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
س-و-ي
![]()
ٱسۡتَوَىٰ
اسْتَوٰی
is'tawā
He rose
ع-ل-ي

عَلَى
عَلَی
ʿalā
over
ع-ر-ش
![]()
ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ
الْعَرْشِ ؕ—
l-ʿarshi
the Throne.
ع-ل-م
![]()
يَعۡلَمُ
یَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamu
He knows
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
what
و-ل-ج
![]()
يَلِجُ
یَلِجُ
yaliju
penetrates
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
in(to)
ا-ر-ض
![]()
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
الْاَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
and what
خ-ر-ج
![]()
يَخۡرُجُ
یَخْرُجُ
yakhruju
comes forth
م-ن
![]()
مِنۡهَا
مِنْهَا
min'hā
from it,
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
and what
ن-ز-ل
![]()
يَنزِلُ
یَنْزِلُ
yanzilu
descends
م-ن
![]()
مِنَ
مِنَ
mina
from
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
السَّمَآءِ
s-samāi
the heaven
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
and what
ع-ر-ج
![]()
يَعۡرُجُ
یَعْرُجُ
yaʿruju
ascends
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَاۖ
فِیْهَا ؕ—
fīhā
therein;
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
م-ع
![]()
مَعَكُمۡ
مَعَكُمْ
maʿakum
(is) with you
ا-ي-ن
![]()
أَيۡنَ
اَیْنَ
ayna
wherever
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
wherever
ك-و-ن
![]()
كُنتُمۡۚ
كُنْتُمْ ؕ—
kuntum
you are.
ا-ل-ه
![]()
وَٱللَّهُ
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
of what
ع-م-ل
![]()
تَعۡمَلُونَ
تَعْمَلُوْنَ
taʿmalūna
you do
ب-ص-ر
![]()
بَصِيرٞ
بَصِیْرٌ
baṣīrun
(is) All-seer.
God is the one who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then mounted the throne. God knows what goes into the earth, and what emerges from it; and what descends from the sky and what rises to it. And God is with you wherever you are and sees whatever you’re doing:

and to
ا-ل-ه

ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ر-ج-ع

تُرۡجَعُ
تُرْجَعُ
tur'jaʿu
will be returned
ا-م-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأُمُورُ
الْاُمُوْرُ
l-umūru
the matters.
The rule of the heavens and the earth belongs to God, and matters depend on God.

He merges

the night

النَّهَارِ

the day
و-ل-ج

وَيُولِجُ
وَیُوْلِجُ
wayūliju
and He merges
ن-ه-ر
![]()
ٱلنَّهَارَ
النَّهَارَ
n-nahāra
the day
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
into
ل-ي-ل
![]()
ٱلَّيۡلِۚ
الَّیْلِ ؕ—
al-layli
the night,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ع-ل-م
![]()
عَلِيمُۢ
عَلِیْمٌۢ
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
ذ-و
![]()
بِذَاتِ
بِذَاتِ
bidhāti
of what is in the breasts.
ص-د-ر
![]()
ٱلصُّدُورِ
الصُّدُوْرِ
ṣ-ṣudūri
of what is in the breasts.
God introduces night into day, and day into night; and God knows what is in hearts.

ا-م-ن

ءَامِنُواْ
اٰمِنُوْا
āminū
Believe
ا-ل-ه
![]()
بِٱللَّهِ
بِاللّٰهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
ر-س-ل

وَرَسُولِهِۦ
وَرَسُوْلِهٖ
warasūlihi
and His Messenger
ن-ف-ق
![]()
وَأَنفِقُواْ
وَاَنْفِقُوْا
wa-anfiqū
and spend
م-م-ا
![]()
مِمَّا
مِمَّا
mimmā
of what
ج-ع-ل
![]()
جَعَلَكُم
جَعَلَكُمْ
jaʿalakum
He has made you
خ-ل-ف
![]()
مُّسۡتَخۡلَفِينَ
مُّسْتَخْلَفِیْنَ
mus'takhlafīna
trustees
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهِۖ
فِیْهِ ؕ—
fīhi
therein.
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
فَٱلَّذِينَ
فَالَّذِیْنَ
fa-alladhīna
And those
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
who believe
م-ن
![]()
مِنكُمۡ
مِنْكُمْ
minkum
among you
ن-ف-ق
![]()
وَأَنفَقُواْ
وَاَنْفَقُوْا
wa-anfaqū
and spend,
ل
![]()
لَهُمۡ
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
ا-ج-ر
![]()
أَجۡرٞ
اَجْرٌ
ajrun
(is) a reward
ك-ب-ر
![]()
كَبِيرٞ
كَبِیْرٌ
kabīrun
great.
Believe in God and the messenger of God, and spend of what We have made you inheritors to. For those of you who do have faith and expend, there is a great reward.

And what

(is) for you
ل-ا

(that) not

تُؤۡمِنُونَ
تُؤْمِنُوْنَ
tu'minūna
you believe
ا-ل-ه
![]()
بِٱللَّهِ
بِاللّٰهِ ۚ—
bil-lahi
in Allah
ر-س-ل
![]()
وَٱلرَّسُولُ
وَالرَّسُوْلُ
war-rasūlu
while the Messenger
د-ع-و
![]()
يَدۡعُوكُمۡ
یَدْعُوْكُمْ
yadʿūkum
calls you
ا-م-ن
![]()
لِتُؤۡمِنُواْ
لِتُؤْمِنُوْا
litu'minū
that you believe
ر-ب-ب
![]()
بِرَبِّكُمۡ
بِرَبِّكُمْ
birabbikum
in your Lord,
ق-د
![]()
وَقَدۡ
وَقَدْ
waqad
and indeed,
ا-خ-ذ
![]()
أَخَذَ
اَخَذَ
akhadha
He has taken
و-ث-ق
![]()
مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ
مِیْثَاقَكُمْ
mīthāqakum
your covenant
ا-ن
![]()
إِن
اِنْ
in
if
ك-و-ن
![]()
كُنتُم
كُنْتُمْ
kuntum
you are
ا-م-ن
![]()
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
مُّؤْمِنِیْنَ
mu'minīna
believers.
So what prevents you from believing in God, when the messenger invites you to believe in your Lord, and he has gotten your agreement, if you are faithful believers?

sends down
ع-ل-ي

عَلَىٰ
عَلٰی
ʿalā
upon
ع-ب-د
![]()
عَبۡدِهِۦٓ
عَبْدِهٖۤ
ʿabdihi
His slave
ا-ي-ا
![]()
ءَايَٰتِۭ
اٰیٰتٍۢ
āyātin
Verses
ب-ي-ن

بَيِّنَٰتٖ
بَیِّنٰتٍ
bayyinātin
clear
خ-ر-ج
![]()
لِّيُخۡرِجَكُم
لِّیُخْرِجَكُمْ
liyukh'rijakum
that He may bring you out
م-ن
![]()
مِّنَ
مِّنَ
mina
from
ظ-ل-م
![]()
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
الظُّلُمٰتِ
ẓ-ẓulumāti
the darkness[es]
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَى
اِلَی
ilā
into
ن-و-ر
![]()
ٱلنُّورِۚ
النُّوْرِ ؕ—
n-nūri
the light.
ا-ن-ن
![]()
وَإِنَّ
وَاِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ب
![]()
بِكُمۡ
بِكُمْ
bikum
to you
ر-ا-ف
![]()
لَرَءُوفٞ
لَرَءُوْفٌ
laraūfun
(is the) Most Kind,
ر-ح-م
![]()
رَّحِيمٞ
رَّحِیْمٌ
raḥīmun
(the) Most Merciful.
God is the one who sends evident signs down to the servant of the divine, to bring you forth from the darknesses into the light: God is indeed kind to you, and merciful.

tunfiqū
you spend

س-ب-ل

سَبِيلِ
سَبِیْلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah?
ا-ل-ه
![]()
وَلِلَّهِ
وَلِلّٰهِ
walillahi
while for Allah
و-ر-ث
![]()
مِيرَٰثُ
مِیْرَاثُ
mīrāthu
(is the) heritage
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
ا-ر-ض
![]()
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
وَالْاَرْضِ ؕ—
wal-arḍi
and the earth?
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
Not
س-و-ي
![]()
يَسۡتَوِي
یَسْتَوِیْ
yastawī
are equal
م-ن
![]()
مِنكُم
مِنْكُمْ
minkum
among you
م-ن
![]()
مَّنۡ
مَّنْ
man
(those) who
ن-ف-ق
![]()
أَنفَقَ
اَنْفَقَ
anfaqa
spent
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
before
ق-ب-ل
![]()
قَبۡلِ
قَبْلِ
qabli
before
ف-ت-ح
![]()
ٱلۡفَتۡحِ
الْفَتْحِ
l-fatḥi
the victory
ق-ت-ل
![]()
وَقَٰتَلَۚ
وَقٰتَلَ ؕ—
waqātala
and fought.
ا-و-ل-ا
![]()
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ
ulāika
Those
ع-ظ-م
![]()
أَعۡظَمُ
اَعْظَمُ
aʿẓamu
(are) greater
د-ر-ج
![]()
دَرَجَةٗ
دَرَجَةً
darajatan
(in) degree
م-ن
![]()
مِّنَ
مِّنَ
mina
than
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ن-ف-ق
![]()
أَنفَقُواْ
اَنْفَقُوْا
anfaqū
spent
م-ن
![]()
مِنۢ
مِنْ
min
afterwards
ب-ع-د
![]()
بَعۡدُ
بَعْدُ
baʿdu
afterwards
ق-ت-ل
![]()
وَقَٰتَلُواْۚ
وَقٰتَلُوْاؕ—
waqātalū
and fought.
ك-ل-ل
![]()
وَكُلّٗا
وَكُلًّا
wakullan
But to all,
و-ع-د
![]()
وَعَدَ
وَّعَدَ
waʿada
Allah has promised
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah has promised
ح-س-ن
![]()
ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ
الْحُسْنٰی ؕ—
l-ḥus'nā
the best.
ا-ل-ه
![]()
وَٱللَّهُ
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
of what
ع-م-ل
![]()
تَعۡمَلُونَ
تَعْمَلُوْنَ
taʿmalūna
you do
خ-ب-ر
![]()
خَبِيرٞ
خَبِیْرٌ
khabīrun
(is) All-Aware.
So what prevents you from spending for the sake of God, when the inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to God? Those of you who contributed before victory and fought are not on the same level; they are greater in rank than those who contributed and fought afterwards. But God has promised fairness to each and every one; and God is fully aware of what you do.
