lam
Not
ك-و-ن

يَكُنِ
یَكُنِ
yakuni
were
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ك-ف-ر
![]()
كَفَرُواْ
كَفَرُوْا
kafarū
disbelieved
م-ن
![]()
مِنۡ
مِنْ
min
from
ا-ه-ل
![]()
أَهۡلِ
اَهْلِ
ahli
(the) People
ك-ت-ب
![]()
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
الْكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
of the Book
ش-ر-ك
![]()
وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
وَالْمُشْرِكِیْنَ
wal-mush'rikīna
and the polytheists,
ف-ك-ك
![]()
مُنفَكِّينَ
مُنْفَكِّیْنَ
munfakkīna
to be abandoned
ح-ت-ت-ي
![]()
حَتَّىٰ
حَتّٰی
ḥattā
until
ا-ت-ي
![]()
تَأۡتِيَهُمُ
تَاْتِیَهُمُ
tatiyahumu
(there) comes to them
ب-ي-ن
![]()
ٱلۡبَيِّنَةُ
الْبَیِّنَةُ
l-bayinatu
the clear evidence,
Those of the people of scripture and the polytheists who scoffed would not stop until evidence came to them,

A Messenger

Allah,
ت-ل-و

يَتۡلُواْ
یَتْلُوْا
yatlū
reciting
ص-ح-ف

صُحُفٗا
صُحُفًا
ṣuḥufan
pages
ط-ه-ر
![]()
مُّطَهَّرَةٗ
مُّطَهَّرَةً
muṭahharatan
purified,
a messenger from God, reciting immaculate scrolls

فِیْهَا
fīhā
Wherein
ك-ت-ب

كُتُبٞ
كُتُبٌ
kutubun
(are) writings
ق-و-م
![]()
قَيِّمَةٞ
قَیِّمَةٌ
qayyimatun
correct.
in which are just decrees.

And not

tafarraqa
became divided
ا-ل-ل-ذ

those who
ا-ت-ي

أُوتُواْ
اُوْتُوا
ūtū
were given
ك-ت-ب
![]()
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
الْكِتٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book,
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّا
اِلَّا
illā
until
م-ن
![]()
مِنۢ
مِنْ
min
from
ب-ع-د
![]()
بَعۡدِ
بَعْدِ
baʿdi
after
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
what
ج-ي-ا
![]()
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
جَآءَتْهُمُ
jāathumu
came (to) them
ب-ي-ن
![]()
ٱلۡبَيِّنَةُ
الْبَیِّنَةُ
l-bayinatu
(of) the clear evidence.
And those to whom scripture was given did not become divided among themselves until after the evidence came to them.

wamā
And not
ا-م-ر

أُمِرُوٓاْ
اُمِرُوْۤا
umirū
they were commanded
ا-ل-ل-ا

إِلَّا
اِلَّا

except
ع-ب-د

لِيَعۡبُدُواْ
لِیَعْبُدُوا
liyaʿbudū
to worship
ا-ل-ه

ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
خ-ل-ص
![]()
مُخۡلِصِينَ
مُخْلِصِیْنَ
mukh'liṣīna
(being) sincere
ل
![]()
لَهُ
لَهُ
lahu
to Him
د-ي-ن
![]()
ٱلدِّينَ
الدِّیْنَ ۙ۬—
d-dīna
(in) the religion,
ح-ن-ف
![]()
حُنَفَآءَ
حُنَفَآءَ
ḥunafāa
upright,
ق-و-م
![]()
وَيُقِيمُواْ
وَیُقِیْمُوا
wayuqīmū
and to establish
ص-ل-و
![]()
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
الصَّلٰوةَ
ṣ-ṣalata
the prayer,
ا-ت-ي
![]()
وَيُؤۡتُواْ
وَیُؤْتُوا
wayu'tū
and to give
ز-ك-و
![]()
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚ
الزَّكٰوةَ
z-zakata
the zakah
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
وَذَٰلِكَ
وَذٰلِكَ
wadhālika
And that
د-ي-ن
![]()
دِينُ
دِیْنُ
dīnu
(is the) religion
ق-و-م
![]()
ٱلۡقَيِّمَةِ
الْقَیِّمَةِ
l-qayimati
the correct.
Yet they have only been enjoined to worship God sincerely in their way of life, devoted; and to practice regular prayer, and to give alms; that is true religion.

ا-ن-ن

Indeed,
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ

those who

disbelieve
م-ن

مِنۡ
مِنْ
min
from
ا-ه-ل

أَهۡلِ
اَهْلِ
ahli
(the) People
ك-ت-ب
![]()
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
الْكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
(of) the Book
ش-ر-ك
![]()
وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
وَالْمُشْرِكِیْنَ
wal-mush'rikīna
and the polytheists
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
(will be) in
ن-و-ر
![]()
نَارِ
نَارِ
nāri
(the) Fire
ج-ه-ن-م
![]()
جَهَنَّمَ
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
(of) Hell
خ-ل-د
![]()
خَٰلِدِينَ
خٰلِدِیْنَ
khālidīna
abiding eternally
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَآۚ
فِیْهَا ؕ—
fīhā
therein.
ا-و-ل-ا
![]()
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ
ulāika
Those -
ه-م
![]()
هُمۡ
هُمْ
hum
they
ش-ر-ر
![]()
شَرُّ
شَرُّ
sharru
(are the) worst
ب-ر-ا
![]()
ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ
الْبَرِیَّةِ
l-bariyati
(of) the creatures.
As for those who scoffed, among both people of scripture and polytheists, they will be in hellfire, where they will remain. They are the worst of creation.

ا-ن-ن

Indeed,
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ا-م-ن

ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
believe
ع-م-ل
![]()
وَعَمِلُواْ
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
ص-ل-ح
![]()
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
الصّٰلِحٰتِ ۙ—
ṣ-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds,
ا-و-ل-ا
![]()
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ
ulāika
those -
ه-م
![]()
هُمۡ
هُمْ
hum
they
خ-ي-ر
![]()
خَيۡرُ
خَیْرُ
khayru
(are the) best
ب-ر-ا
![]()
ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ
الْبَرِیَّةِ
l-bariyati
(of) the creatures.
As for those who have faith and do good works, they are the best of creation.

جَزَآؤُهُمْ
jazāuhum
Their reward
ع-ن-د

عِندَ
عِنْدَ
ʿinda
(is) with
ر-ب-ب

رَبِّهِمۡ
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord -
ج-ن-ن
![]()
جَنَّٰتُ
جَنّٰتُ
jannātu
Gardens
ع-د-ن
![]()
عَدۡنٖ
عَدْنٍ
ʿadnin
(of) Eternity,
ج-ر-ي
![]()
تَجۡرِي
تَجْرِیْ
tajrī
flow
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
from
ت-ح-ت
![]()
تَحۡتِهَا
تَحْتِهَا
taḥtihā
underneath them
ن-ه-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
الْاَنْهٰرُ
l-anhāru
the rivers,
خ-ل-د
![]()
خَٰلِدِينَ
خٰلِدِیْنَ
khālidīna
will abide
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَآ
فِیْهَاۤ
fīhā
therein
ا-ب-د
![]()
أَبَدٗاۖ
اَبَدًا ؕ—
abadan
forever.
ر-ض-و
![]()
رَّضِيَ
رَضِیَ
raḍiya
(will be) pleased
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
ع-ن
![]()
عَنۡهُمۡ
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
with them
ر-ض-و
![]()
وَرَضُواْ
وَرَضُوْا
waraḍū
and they (will be) pleased
ع-ن
![]()
عَنۡهُۚ
عَنْهُ ؕ—
ʿanhu
with Him.
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكَ
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
م-ن
![]()
لِمَنۡ
لِمَنْ
liman
(is) for whoever
خ-ش-ي
![]()
خَشِيَ
خَشِیَ
khashiya
feared
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبَّهُۥ
رَبَّهٗ
rabbahu
his Lord.
Their reward is in the presence of their Lord: gardens of eternity with rivers flowing below, where they will abide forever, God being pleased with them and they being pleased with God. That is for those in awe of their Lord.
