tanzīlun
A revelation
م-ن

مِّنَ
مِّنَ
mina
from
ر-ح-م

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ
الرَّحْمٰنِ
r-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious,
ر-ح-م
![]()
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
الرَّحِیْمِ
r-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful,
A revelation from the Benevolent, the Merciful;

ك-ت-ب

كِتَٰبٞ
كِتٰبٌ
kitābun
A Book,
ف-ص-ل
![]()
فُصِّلَتۡ
فُصِّلَتْ
fuṣṣilat
are detailed
ا-ي-ا
![]()
ءَايَٰتُهُۥ
اٰیٰتُهٗ
āyātuhu
its Verses,
ق-ر-ا
![]()
قُرۡءَانًا
قُرْاٰنًا
qur'ānan
a Quran
ع-ر-ب
![]()
عَرَبِيّٗا
عَرَبِیًّا
ʿarabiyyan
(in) Arabic
ق-و-م
![]()
لِّقَوۡمٖ
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
ع-ل-م
![]()
يَعۡلَمُونَ
یَّعْلَمُوْنَ
yaʿlamūna
(who) know,
a Book whose verses are logically ordered in an Arabic recitation for people who know,

ب-ش-ر

بَشِيرٗا
بَشِیْرًا
bashīran
A giver of glad tidings
ن-ذ-ر
![]()
وَنَذِيرٗا
وَّنَذِیْرًا ۚ—
wanadhīran
and a warner;
ع-ر-ض
![]()
فَأَعۡرَضَ
فَاَعْرَضَ
fa-aʿraḍa
but turn away
ك-ث-ر
![]()
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
اَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhum
most of them,
ه-م
![]()
فَهُمۡ
فَهُمْ
fahum
so they
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(do) not
س-م-ع
![]()
يَسۡمَعُونَ
یَسْمَعُوْنَ
yasmaʿūna
hear.
a herald and a warning: but most of them turn away, not listening.

ق-و-ل

وَقَالُواْ
وَقَالُوْا
waqālū
And they say,
ق-ل-ب
![]()
قُلُوبُنَا
قُلُوْبُنَا
qulūbunā
"Our hearts
ف-ي
![]()
فِيٓ
فِیْۤ
fī
(are) in
ك-ن-ن
![]()
أَكِنَّةٖ
اَكِنَّةٍ
akinnatin
coverings
م-م-ا
![]()
مِّمَّا
مِّمَّا
mimmā
from what
د-ع-و
![]()
تَدۡعُونَآ
تَدْعُوْنَاۤ
tadʿūnā
you call us
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡهِ
اِلَیْهِ
ilayhi
to it,
ف-ي
![]()
وَفِيٓ
وَفِیْۤ
wafī
and in
ا-ذ-ن
![]()
ءَاذَانِنَا
اٰذَانِنَا
ādhāninā
our ears
و-ق-ر
![]()
وَقۡرٞ
وَقْرٌ
waqrun
(is) deafness,
م-ن
![]()
وَمِنۢ
وَّمِنْ
wamin
and between us
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنِنَا
بَیْنِنَا
bayninā
and between us
ب-ي-ن
![]()
وَبَيۡنِكَ
وَبَیْنِكَ
wabaynika
and between you
ح-ج-ب
![]()
حِجَابٞ
حِجَابٌ
ḥijābun
(is) a screen.
ع-م-ل
![]()
فَٱعۡمَلۡ
فَاعْمَلْ
fa-iʿ'mal
So work,
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّنَا
اِنَّنَا
innanā
indeed, we
ع-م-ل
![]()
عَٰمِلُونَ
عٰمِلُوْنَ
ʿāmilūna
(are) working."
And they say, “Our hearts are screened from what you call us to; and in our ears is a film, and between us and you is a veil; so do what you will, for we will do what we do.”

ق-و-ل

qul
Say,
ا-ن-ن-م
![]()
إِنَّمَآ
اِنَّمَاۤ
innamā
"Only
ا-ن-ا
![]()
أَنَا۠
اَنَا
anā
I am
ب-ش-ر
![]()
بَشَرٞ
بَشَرٌ
basharun
a man
م-ث-ل
![]()
مِّثۡلُكُمۡ
مِّثْلُكُمْ
mith'lukum
like you,
و-ح-ي
![]()
يُوحَىٰٓ
یُوْحٰۤی
yūḥā
it is revealed
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيَّ
اِلَیَّ
ilayya
to me
ا-ن-ن-م
![]()
أَنَّمَآ
اَنَّمَاۤ
annamā
that
ا-ل-ه
![]()
إِلَٰهُكُمۡ
اِلٰهُكُمْ
ilāhukum
your god
ا-ل-ه
![]()
إِلَٰهٞ
اِلٰهٌ
ilāhun
(is) God
و-ح-د
![]()
وَٰحِدٞ
وَّاحِدٌ
wāḥidun
One;
ق-و-م
![]()
فَٱسۡتَقِيمُوٓاْ
فَاسْتَقِیْمُوْۤا
fa-is'taqīmū
so take a Straight Path
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡهِ
اِلَیْهِ
ilayhi
to Him
غ-ف-ر
![]()
وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُۗ
وَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ ؕ—
wa-is'taghfirūhu
and ask His forgiveness."
و-ي-ل
![]()
وَوَيۡلٞ
وَوَیْلٌ
wawaylun
And woe
ش-ر-ك
![]()
لِّلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
لِّلْمُشْرِكِیْنَ
lil'mush'rikīna
to the polytheists,
Say, “I am only a human like you, who has been inspired that your deity is one God. So be true to God and seek divine forgiveness.” And woe to the idolatrous,

ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
Those who
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(do) not
ا-ت-ي
![]()
يُؤۡتُونَ
یُؤْتُوْنَ
yu'tūna
give
ز-ك-و
![]()
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
الزَّكٰوةَ
z-zakata
the zakah,
ه-م
![]()
وَهُم
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
ا-خ-ر
![]()
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
بِالْاٰخِرَةِ
bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
ه-م
![]()
هُمۡ
هُمْ
hum
they
ك-ف-ر
![]()
كَٰفِرُونَ
كٰفِرُوْنَ
kāfirūna
(are) disbelievers.
those who don’t give alms and who scoff at the hereafter.

ا-ن-ن

إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
believe
ع-م-ل
![]()
وَعَمِلُواْ
وَعَمِلُوا
waʿamilū
and do
ص-ل-ح
![]()
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
الصّٰلِحٰتِ
ṣ-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds,
ل
![]()
لَهُمۡ
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
ا-ج-ر
![]()
أَجۡرٌ
اَجْرٌ
ajrun
(is) a reward
غ-ي-ر
![]()
غَيۡرُ
غَیْرُ
ghayru
never ending.
م-ن-ن
![]()
مَمۡنُونٖ
مَمْنُوْنٍ
mamnūnin
never ending.
As for those who believe and do good, they have a reward without end.

ق-و-ل

۞قُلۡ
قُلْ
qul
Say,
ا-ن-ن
![]()
أَئِنَّكُمۡ
اَىِٕنَّكُمْ
a-innakum
"Do you indeed
ك-ف-ر
![]()
لَتَكۡفُرُونَ
لَتَكْفُرُوْنَ
latakfurūna
[surely] disbelieve
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
بِٱلَّذِي
بِالَّذِیْ
bi-alladhī
in the One Who
خ-ل-ق
![]()
خَلَقَ
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
ا-ر-ض
![]()
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
الْاَرْضَ
l-arḍa
the earth
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
ي-و-م
![]()
يَوۡمَيۡنِ
یَوْمَیْنِ
yawmayni
two periods
ج-ع-ل
![]()
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ
وَتَجْعَلُوْنَ
watajʿalūna
and you set up
ل
![]()
لَهُۥٓ
لَهٗۤ
lahu
with Him
ن-د-د
![]()
أَندَادٗاۚ
اَنْدَادًا ؕ—
andādan
rivals?
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكَ
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبُّ
رَبُّ
rabbu
(is the) Lord
ع-ل-م
![]()
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
الْعٰلَمِیْنَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds."
Say, “Do you indeed deny the One who created the earth in two days? And you set up rivals to God! God is Lord of the universe,

wajaʿala
And He placed
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَا
فِیْهَا
fīhā
therein
ر-س-و
![]()
رَوَٰسِيَ
رَوَاسِیَ
rawāsiya
firmly-set mountains
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
above it
ف-و-ق
![]()
فَوۡقِهَا
فَوْقِهَا
fawqihā
above it
ب-ر-ك
![]()
وَبَٰرَكَ
وَبٰرَكَ
wabāraka
and He blessed
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَا
فِیْهَا
fīhā
therein,
ق-د-ر
![]()
وَقَدَّرَ
وَقَدَّرَ
waqaddara
and determined
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهَآ
فِیْهَاۤ
fīhā
therein
ق-و-ت
![]()
أَقۡوَٰتَهَا
اَقْوَاتَهَا
aqwātahā
its sustenance
ف-ي
![]()
فِيٓ
فِیْۤ
fī
in
ر-ب-ع
![]()
أَرۡبَعَةِ
اَرْبَعَةِ
arbaʿati
four
ي-و-م
![]()
أَيَّامٖ
اَیَّامٍ ؕ—
ayyāmin
periods
س-و-ي
![]()
سَوَآءٗ
سَوَآءً
sawāan
equal,
س-ا-ل
![]()
لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ
لِّلسَّآىِٕلِیْنَ
lilssāilīna
for those who ask.
and put mountains on the earth, and blessed it, and apportioned its nutriments thereon, in four days, equitably to seekers.
