kadhālika
Thus
و-ح-ي
![]()
يُوحِيٓ
یُوْحِیْۤ
yūḥī
reveals
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡكَ
اِلَیْكَ
ilayka
to you,
ا-ل-ي
![]()
وَإِلَى
وَاِلَی
wa-ilā
and to
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
before you -
ق-ب-ل
![]()
قَبۡلِكَ
قَبْلِكَ ۙ—
qablika
before you -
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
ع-ز-ز
![]()
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
الْعَزِیْزُ
l-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty,
ح-ك-م
![]()
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
الْحَكِیْمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise.
Thus does God inspire you, and those before you, God the Mighty, the Wise;

lahu
To Him
م-ا

مَا
مَا
mā
(belong) whatever
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
(is) in
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
the heavens
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
(is) in
ا-ر-ض
![]()
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
الْاَرْضِ ؕ—
l-arḍi
the earth,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ع-ل-و
![]()
ٱلۡعَلِيُّ
الْعَلِیُّ
l-ʿaliyu
(is) the Most High,
ع-ظ-م
![]()
ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
الْعَظِیْمُ
l-ʿaẓīmu
the Most Great.
to whom belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, and who is the Exalted, the Sublime.

تَكَادُ
تَكَادُ
takādu
Almost
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ
السَّمٰوٰتُ
s-samāwātu
the heavens
ف-ط-ر
![]()
يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ
یَتَفَطَّرْنَ
yatafaṭṭarna
break up
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
from
ف-و-ق
![]()
فَوۡقِهِنَّۚ
فَوْقِهِنَّ
fawqihinna
above them,
م-ل-ك
![]()
وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
وَالْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةُ
wal-malāikatu
and the Angels
س-ب-ح
![]()
يُسَبِّحُونَ
یُسَبِّحُوْنَ
yusabbiḥūna
glorify
ح-م-د
![]()
بِحَمۡدِ
بِحَمْدِ
biḥamdi
(the) praise
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبِّهِمۡ
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
غ-ف-ر
![]()
وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
وَیَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَ
wayastaghfirūna
and ask for forgiveness
م-ن
![]()
لِمَن
لِمَنْ
liman
for those
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
on
ا-ر-ض
![]()
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
الْاَرْضِ ؕ—
l-arḍi
the earth.
ل-ا
![]()
أَلَآ
اَلَاۤ
alā
Unquestionably,
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah,
ه-و
![]()
هُوَ
هُوَ
huwa
He
غ-ف-ر
![]()
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
الْغَفُوْرُ
l-ghafūru
(is) the Oft-Forgiving,
ر-ح-م
![]()
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
الرَّحِیْمُ
r-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful.
The heavens are nearly cleft from above, and the angels praise their Lord, and ask forgiveness for those on earth. Oh, yes! God is indeed the Forgiving, the Merciful.

ا-ل-ل-ذ

وَٱلَّذِينَ
وَالَّذِیْنَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
ا-خ-ذ
![]()
ٱتَّخَذُواْ
اتَّخَذُوْا
ittakhadhū
take
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
besides
د-و-ن
![]()
دُونِهِۦٓ
دُوْنِهٖۤ
dūnihi
besides
و-ل-ي
![]()
أَوۡلِيَآءَ
اَوْلِیَآءَ
awliyāa
protectors,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah
ح-ف-ظ
![]()
حَفِيظٌ
حَفِیْظٌ
ḥafīẓun
(is) a Guardian
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
عَلَیْهِمْ ۖؗ—
ʿalayhim
over them,
م-ا
![]()
وَمَآ
وَمَاۤ
wamā
and not
ا-ن-ت
![]()
أَنتَ
اَنْتَ
anta
you
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡهِم
عَلَیْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
(are) over them
و-ك-ل
![]()
بِوَكِيلٖ
بِوَكِیْلٍ
biwakīlin
a manager.
Even those who adopt other protectors, God is watching over them, and you are not in charge of them.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ
وَكَذٰلِكَ
wakadhālika
And thus
و-ح-ي

أَوۡحَيۡنَآ
اَوْحَیْنَاۤ
awḥaynā
We have revealed
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡكَ
اِلَیْكَ
ilayka
to you
ق-ر-ا
![]()
قُرۡءَانًا
قُرْاٰنًا
qur'ānan
a Quran
ع-ر-ب
![]()
عَرَبِيّٗا
عَرَبِیًّا
ʿarabiyyan
(in) Arabic,
ن-ذ-ر
![]()
لِّتُنذِرَ
لِّتُنْذِرَ
litundhira
that you may warn
ا-م-م
![]()
أُمَّ
اُمَّ
umma
(the) mother
ق-ر-ي
![]()
ٱلۡقُرَىٰ
الْقُرٰی
l-qurā
(of) the towns,
م-ن
![]()
وَمَنۡ
وَمَنْ
waman
and whoever
ح-و-ل
![]()
حَوۡلَهَا
حَوْلَهَا
ḥawlahā
(is) around it,
ن-ذ-ر
![]()
وَتُنذِرَ
وَتُنْذِرَ
watundhira
and warn
ي-و-م
![]()
يَوۡمَ
یَوْمَ
yawma
(of the) Day
ج-م-ع
![]()
ٱلۡجَمۡعِ
الْجَمْعِ
l-jamʿi
(of) Assembly,
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(there is) no
ر-ي-ب
![]()
رَيۡبَ
رَیْبَ
rayba
doubt
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهِۚ
فِیْهِ ؕ—
fīhi
in it.
ف-ر-ق
![]()
فَرِيقٞ
فَرِیْقٌ
farīqun
A party
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
(will be) in
ج-ن-ن
![]()
ٱلۡجَنَّةِ
الْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
Paradise
ف-ر-ق
![]()
وَفَرِيقٞ
وَفَرِیْقٌ
wafarīqun
and a party
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
in
س-ع-ر
![]()
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
السَّعِیْرِ
s-saʿīri
the Blazing Fire.
And so We have inspired you, with an Arabic Recital, that you may warn the Mother of Cities and those around her, and that you may warn of the day of assembly, in which there is no doubt; some will be in the garden, and some in the inferno.

And if
ش-ي-ا

شَآءَ
شَآءَ
shāa
Allah willed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah willed,
ج-ع-ل
![]()
لَجَعَلَهُمۡ
لَجَعَلَهُمْ
lajaʿalahum
He could have made them
ا-م-م
![]()
أُمَّةٗ
اُمَّةً
ummatan
a community
و-ح-د
![]()
وَٰحِدَةٗ
وَّاحِدَةً
wāḥidatan
one,
ل-ك-ن
![]()
وَلَٰكِن
وَّلٰكِنْ
walākin
but
د-خ-ل
![]()
يُدۡخِلُ
یُّدْخِلُ
yud'khilu
He admits
م-ن
![]()
مَن
مَنْ
man
whom
ش-ي-ا
![]()
يَشَآءُ
یَّشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in (to)
ر-ح-م
![]()
رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ
رَحْمَتِهٖ ؕ—
raḥmatihi
His Mercy.
ظ-ل-م
![]()
وَٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
وَالظّٰلِمُوْنَ
waẓ-ẓālimūna
And the wrongdoers,
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
not
ل
![]()
لَهُم
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
م-ن
![]()
مِّن
مِّنْ
min
any
و-ل-ي
![]()
وَلِيّٖ
وَّلِیٍّ
waliyyin
protector
ل-ا
![]()
وَلَا
وَّلَا
walā
and not
ن-ص-ر
![]()
نَصِيرٍ
نَصِیْرٍ
naṣīrin
any helper.
And if God willed, God would have made them one people; but God admits to divine mercy whomsoever God will; and the unjust have no protector and no savior.

ا-م

ami
Or
ا-خ-ذ

ٱتَّخَذُواْ
اتَّخَذُوْا
ittakhadhū
have they taken
م-ن

مِن
مِنْ
min
besides Him
د-و-ن
![]()
دُونِهِۦٓ
دُوْنِهٖۤ
dūnihi
besides Him
و-ل-ي
![]()
أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ
اَوْلِیَآءَ ۚ—
awliyāa
protectors?
ا-ل-ه
![]()
فَٱللَّهُ
فَاللّٰهُ
fal-lahu
But Allah -
ه-و
![]()
هُوَ
هُوَ
huwa
He
و-ل-ي
![]()
ٱلۡوَلِيُّ
الْوَلِیُّ
l-waliyu
(is) the Protector,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ح-ي-ي
![]()
يُحۡيِ
یُحْیِ
yuḥ'yī
gives life
م-و-ت
![]()
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
الْمَوْتٰی ؗ—
l-mawtā
(to) the dead.
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَىٰ
عَلٰی
ʿalā
(is) on
ك-ل-ل
![]()
كُلِّ
كُلِّ
kulli
every
ش-ي-ا
![]()
شَيۡءٖ
شَیْءٍ
shayin
thing
ق-د-ر
![]()
قَدِيرٞ
قَدِیْرٌ
qadīrun
All-Powerful.
Have they adopted protectors other than God? But it is God who is the protector, who gives life to the dead, and who has power over all things.

wamā
And whatever
خ-ل-ف

ٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ
اخْتَلَفْتُمْ
ikh'talaftum
you differ
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهِ
فِیْهِ
fīhi
in it
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
of
ش-ي-ا
![]()
شَيۡءٖ
شَیْءٍ
shayin
a thing,
ح-ك-م
![]()
فَحُكۡمُهُۥٓ
فَحُكْمُهٗۤ
faḥuk'muhu
then its ruling
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَى
اِلَی
ilā
(is) to
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِۚ
اللّٰهِ ؕ—
l-lahi
Allah.
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكُمُ
ذٰلِكُمُ
dhālikumu
That
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
(is) Allah,
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَبِّي
رَبِّیْ
rabbī
my Lord,
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡهِ
عَلَیْهِ
ʿalayhi
upon Him
و-ك-ل
![]()
تَوَكَّلۡتُ
تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖۗ—
tawakkaltu
I put my trust
ا-ل-ي
![]()
وَإِلَيۡهِ
وَاِلَیْهِ
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
ن-و-ب
![]()
أُنِيبُ
اُنِیْبُ
unību
I turn.
Whatever it is you differ on, it is for God to judge; that is God, my Lord, in whom I trust, and to whom I turn;
