ا-ي-ي

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
یٰۤاَیُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O you who believe!
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
O you who believe!
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
O you who believe!
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(Do) not
ق-د-م
![]()
تُقَدِّمُواْ
تُقَدِّمُوْا
tuqaddimū
put (yourselves) forward -
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنَ
بَیْنَ
bayna
before Allah
ي-د-ي
![]()
يَدَيِ
یَدَیِ
yadayi
before Allah
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
before Allah
ر-س-ل
![]()
وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ
وَرَسُوْلِهٖ
warasūlihi
and His Messenger
و-ق-ي
![]()
وَٱتَّقُواْ
وَاتَّقُوا
wa-ittaqū
and fear Allah.
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَۚ
اللّٰهَ ؕ—
l-laha
and fear Allah.
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
س-م-ع
![]()
سَمِيعٌ
سَمِیْعٌ
samīʿun
(is) All-Hearer,
ع-ل-م
![]()
عَلِيمٞ
عَلِیْمٌ
ʿalīmun
All-Knower.
Believers, don’t put yourselves forward before God and the messenger of God; be wary of God, for God is all-hearing, all-knowing.

ا-ل-ل-ذ

ا-م-ن

ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوْا
āmanū
O you who believe!
ل-ا

لَا
لَا
lā
(Do) not
ر-ف-ع

تَرۡفَعُوٓاْ
تَرْفَعُوْۤا
tarfaʿū
raise
ص-و-ت
![]()
أَصۡوَٰتَكُمۡ
اَصْوَاتَكُمْ
aṣwātakum
your voices
ف-و-ق
![]()
فَوۡقَ
فَوْقَ
fawqa
above
ص-و-ت
![]()
صَوۡتِ
صَوْتِ
ṣawti
(the) voice
ن-ب-ا
![]()
ٱلنَّبِيِّ
النَّبِیِّ
n-nabiyi
(of) the Prophet,
ل-ا
![]()
وَلَا
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
ج-ه-ر
![]()
تَجۡهَرُواْ
تَجْهَرُوْا
tajharū
be loud
ل
![]()
لَهُۥ
لَهٗ
lahu
to him
ق-و-ل
![]()
بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ
بِالْقَوْلِ
bil-qawli
in speech
ج-ه-ر
![]()
كَجَهۡرِ
كَجَهْرِ
kajahri
like (the) loudness
ب-ع-ض
![]()
بَعۡضِكُمۡ
بَعْضِكُمْ
baʿḍikum
(of) some of you
ب-ع-ض
![]()
لِبَعۡضٍ
لِبَعْضٍ
libaʿḍin
to others,
ا-ن
![]()
أَن
اَنْ
an
lest
ح-ب-ط
![]()
تَحۡبَطَ
تَحْبَطَ
taḥbaṭa
become worthless
ع-م-ل
![]()
أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡ
اَعْمَالُكُمْ
aʿmālukum
your deeds
ا-ن-ت-م
![]()
وَأَنتُمۡ
وَاَنْتُمْ
wa-antum
while you
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(do) not
ش-ع-ر
![]()
تَشۡعُرُونَ
تَشْعُرُوْنَ
tashʿurūna
perceive.
Believers, don’t raise your voices over the voice of the Prophet and don’t speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to each other, lest your acts be in vain without your realizing.

ا-ل-ل-ذ

يَغُضُّونَ
یَغُضُّوْنَ
yaghuḍḍūna
lower
ص-و-ت
![]()
أَصۡوَٰتَهُمۡ
اَصْوَاتَهُمْ
aṣwātahum
their voices
ع-ن-د
![]()
عِندَ
عِنْدَ
ʿinda
(in) presence
ر-س-ل
![]()
رَسُولِ
رَسُوْلِ
rasūli
(of the) Messenger of Allah -
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of the) Messenger of Allah -
ا-و-ل-ا
![]()
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ
ulāika
those,
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
(are) the ones
م-ح-ن
![]()
ٱمۡتَحَنَ
امْتَحَنَ
im'taḥana
Allah has tested
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
Allah has tested
ق-ل-ب
![]()
قُلُوبَهُمۡ
قُلُوْبَهُمْ
qulūbahum
their hearts
و-ق-ي
![]()
لِلتَّقۡوَىٰۚ
لِلتَّقْوٰی ؕ—
lilttaqwā
for righteousness.
ل
![]()
لَهُم
لَهُمْ
lahum
For them
غ-ف-ر
![]()
مَّغۡفِرَةٞ
مَّغْفِرَةٌ
maghfiratun
(is) forgiveness
ا-ج-ر
![]()
وَأَجۡرٌ
وَّاَجْرٌ
wa-ajrun
and a reward
ع-ظ-م
![]()
عَظِيمٌ
عَظِیْمٌ
ʿaẓīmun
great.
Those who lower their voices in the presence of the messenger of God are those whose hearts God has tested for conscience; there is forgiveness for them, and a tremendous reward.

ا-ن-ن

Indeed,
ا-ل-ل-ذ

those who

يُنَادُونَكَ
یُنَادُوْنَكَ
yunādūnaka
call you
م-ن

مِن
مِنْ
min
from
و-ر-ي
![]()
وَرَآءِ
وَّرَآءِ
warāi
behind
ح-ج-ر
![]()
ٱلۡحُجُرَٰتِ
الْحُجُرٰتِ
l-ḥujurāti
the private chambers,
ك-ث-ر
![]()
أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ
اَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhum
most of them
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(do) not
ع-ق-ل
![]()
يَعۡقِلُونَ
یَعْقِلُوْنَ
yaʿqilūna
understand.
As for those who call to you from outside the private chambers, most of them are not prudent.

وَلَوۡ
وَلَوْ

And if
ا-ن-ن

أَنَّهُمۡ
اَنَّهُمْ
annahum
they
ص-ب-ر

صَبَرُواْ
صَبَرُوْا
ṣabarū
had been patient
ح-ت-ت-ي
![]()
حَتَّىٰ
حَتّٰی
ḥattā
until
خ-ر-ج
![]()
تَخۡرُجَ
تَخْرُجَ
takhruja
you came out
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡهِمۡ
اِلَیْهِمْ
ilayhim
to them
ك-و-ن
![]()
لَكَانَ
لَكَانَ
lakāna
certainly it would be
خ-ي-ر
![]()
خَيۡرٗا
خَیْرًا
khayran
better
ل
![]()
لَّهُمۡۚ
لَّهُمْ ؕ—
lahum
for them.
ا-ل-ه
![]()
وَٱللَّهُ
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
غ-ف-ر
![]()
غَفُورٞ
غَفُوْرٌ
ghafūrun
(is) Oft-Forgiving,
ر-ح-م
![]()
رَّحِيمٞ
رَّحِیْمٌ
raḥīmun
Most Merciful.
If only they would be patient until you come out to them, that would be best for them; yet God is very forgiving, most merciful.

ا-ي-ي

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
یٰۤاَیُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O you who believe!
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ

O you who believe!
ا-م-ن
![]()
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
اٰمَنُوْۤا
āmanū
O you who believe!
ا-ن

إِن
اِنْ
in
If
ج-ي-ا
![]()
جَآءَكُمۡ
جَآءَكُمْ
jāakum
comes to you
ف-س-ق
![]()
فَاسِقُۢ
فَاسِقٌ
fāsiqun
a wicked person
ن-ب-ا
![]()
بِنَبَإٖ
بِنَبَاٍ
binaba-in
with information,
ب-ي-ن
![]()
فَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْ
فَتَبَیَّنُوْۤا
fatabayyanū
investigate,
ا-ن
![]()
أَن
اَنْ
an
lest
ص-و-ب
![]()
تُصِيبُواْ
تُصِیْبُوْا
tuṣībū
you harm
ق-و-م
![]()
قَوۡمَۢا
قَوْمًا
qawman
a people
ج-ه-ل
![]()
بِجَهَٰلَةٖ
بِجَهَالَةٍ
bijahālatin
in ignorance,
ص-ب-ح
![]()
فَتُصۡبِحُواْ
فَتُصْبِحُوْا
fatuṣ'biḥū
then you become,
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَىٰ
عَلٰی
ʿalā
over
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
what
ف-ع-ل
![]()
فَعَلۡتُمۡ
فَعَلْتُمْ
faʿaltum
you have done,
ن-د-م
![]()
نَٰدِمِينَ
نٰدِمِیْنَ
nādimīna
regretful.
Believers, if a vicious person brings any news, try to get at the facts, lest you afflict people ignorantly and become regretful for what you have done.

ع-ل-م

وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
وَاعْلَمُوْۤا
wa-iʿ'lamū
And know
ا-ن-ن

أَنَّ
اَنَّ
anna
that
ف-ي

فِيكُمۡ
فِیْكُمْ
fīkum
among you
ر-س-ل
![]()
رَسُولَ
رَسُوْلَ
rasūla
(is the) Messenger of Allah.
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِۚ
اللّٰهِ ؕ—
l-lahi
(is the) Messenger of Allah.
ل-و
![]()
لَوۡ
لَوْ
law
If
ط-و-ع
![]()
يُطِيعُكُمۡ
یُطِیْعُكُمْ
yuṭīʿukum
he were to obey you
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
ك-ث-ر
![]()
كَثِيرٖ
كَثِیْرٍ
kathīrin
much
م-ن
![]()
مِّنَ
مِّنَ
mina
of
ا-م-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأَمۡرِ
الْاَمْرِ
l-amri
the matter,
ع-ن-ت
![]()
لَعَنِتُّمۡ
لَعَنِتُّمْ
laʿanittum
surely you would be in difficulty,
ل-ك-ن
![]()
وَلَٰكِنَّ
وَلٰكِنَّ
walākinna
but
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ح-ب-ب
![]()
حَبَّبَ
حَبَّبَ
ḥabbaba
has endeared
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡكُمُ
اِلَیْكُمُ
ilaykumu
to you
ا-م-ن
![]()
ٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ
الْاِیْمَانَ
l-īmāna
the Faith
ز-ي-ن
![]()
وَزَيَّنَهُۥ
وَزَیَّنَهٗ
wazayyanahu
and has made it pleasing
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
ق-ل-ب
![]()
قُلُوبِكُمۡ
قُلُوْبِكُمْ
qulūbikum
your hearts
ك-ر-ه
![]()
وَكَرَّهَ
وَكَرَّهَ
wakarraha
and has made hateful
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡكُمُ
اِلَیْكُمُ
ilaykumu
to you
ك-ف-ر
![]()
ٱلۡكُفۡرَ
الْكُفْرَ
l-kuf'ra
disbelief
ف-س-ق
![]()
وَٱلۡفُسُوقَ
وَالْفُسُوْقَ
wal-fusūqa
and defiance
ع-ص-ي
![]()
وَٱلۡعِصۡيَانَۚ
وَالْعِصْیَانَ ؕ—
wal-ʿiṣ'yāna
and disobedience.
ا-و-ل-ا
![]()
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
اُولٰٓىِٕكَ
ulāika
Those
ه-م
![]()
هُمُ
هُمُ
humu
(are) they -
ر-ش-د
![]()
ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَ
الرّٰشِدُوْنَ
r-rāshidūna
the guided ones.
And know that among you is the messenger of God: were he to obey you in most matters, you would certainly come to grief; but God has made faith dear to you, and made it pleasing to you in your hearts, making atheism, immorality, and rebelliousness odious to you. Those are the righteous ones,

فَضْلًا
faḍlan
A Bounty
م-ن
![]()
مِّنَ
مِّنَ
mina
from Allah
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
from Allah
ن-ع-م
![]()
وَنِعۡمَةٗۚ
وَنِعْمَةً ؕ—
waniʿ'matan
and favor.
ا-ل-ه
![]()
وَٱللَّهُ
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
ع-ل-م
![]()
عَلِيمٌ
عَلِیْمٌ
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower,
ح-ك-م
![]()
حَكِيمٞ
حَكِیْمٌ
ḥakīmun
All-Wise.
as a favor and a boon from God; and God is omniscient, perfectly wise.

ا-ن

وَإِن
وَاِنْ
wa-in
And if
ط-و-ف

طَآئِفَتَانِ
طَآىِٕفَتٰنِ
ṭāifatāni
two parties
م-ن
![]()
مِنَ
مِنَ
mina
among
ا-م-ن
![]()
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
ق-ت-ل
![]()
ٱقۡتَتَلُواْ
اقْتَتَلُوْا
iq'tatalū
fight,
ص-ل-ح
![]()
فَأَصۡلِحُواْ
فَاَصْلِحُوْا
fa-aṣliḥū
then make peace
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنَهُمَاۖ
بَیْنَهُمَا ۚ—
baynahumā
between both of them.
ا-ن
![]()
فَإِنۢ
فَاِنْ
fa-in
But if
ب-غ-ي
![]()
بَغَتۡ
بَغَتْ
baghat
oppresses
ا-ح-د
![]()
إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا
اِحْدٰىهُمَا
iḥ'dāhumā
one of them
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَى
عَلَی
ʿalā
on
ا-خ-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ
الْاُخْرٰی
l-ukh'rā
the other,
ق-ت-ل
![]()
فَقَٰتِلُواْ
فَقَاتِلُوا
faqātilū
then fight
ا-ل-ل-ت
![]()
ٱلَّتِي
الَّتِیْ
allatī
one which
ب-غ-ي
![]()
تَبۡغِي
تَبْغِیْ
tabghī
oppresses
ح-ت-ت-ي
![]()
حَتَّىٰ
حَتّٰی
ḥattā
until
ف-ي-ا
![]()
تَفِيٓءَ
تَفِیْٓءَ
tafīa
it returns
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَىٰٓ
اِلٰۤی
ilā
to
ا-م-ر
![]()
أَمۡرِ
اَمْرِ
amri
(the) command
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِۚ
اللّٰهِ ۚ—
l-lahi
(of) Allah.
ا-ن
![]()
فَإِن
فَاِنْ
fa-in
Then if
ف-ي-ا
![]()
فَآءَتۡ
فَآءَتْ
fāat
it returns,
ص-ل-ح
![]()
فَأَصۡلِحُواْ
فَاَصْلِحُوْا
fa-aṣliḥū
then make peace
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنَهُمَا
بَیْنَهُمَا
baynahumā
between them
ع-د-ل
![]()
بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ
بِالْعَدْلِ
bil-ʿadli
with justice,
ق-س-ط
![]()
وَأَقۡسِطُوٓاْۖ
وَاَقْسِطُوْا ؕ—
wa-aqsiṭū
and act justly.
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ح-ب-ب
![]()
يُحِبُّ
یُحِبُّ
yuḥibbu
loves
ق-س-ط
![]()
ٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَ
الْمُقْسِطِیْنَ
l-muq'siṭīna
those who act justly.
If two parties of believers contend with each other, make peace between them. Then if one of the two acts unjustly to the other, fight the side that transgresses until it goes back to the order of God. Then if it goes back, make peace between the two fairly, doing justice, for God loves those who do justice.

ا-ن-ن-م

Only
ا-م-ن

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ
الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ
l-mu'minūna
the believers
ا-خ-و

إِخۡوَةٞ
اِخْوَةٌ
ikh'watun
(are) brothers,
ص-ل-ح
![]()
فَأَصۡلِحُواْ
فَاَصْلِحُوْا
fa-aṣliḥū
so make peace
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنَ
بَیْنَ
bayna
between
ا-خ-و
![]()
أَخَوَيۡكُمۡۚ
اَخَوَیْكُمْ
akhawaykum
your brothers,
و-ق-ي
![]()
وَٱتَّقُواْ
وَاتَّقُوا
wa-ittaqū
and fear Allah
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
and fear Allah
ل-ع-ل-ل
![]()
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
لَعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakum
so that you may
ر-ح-م
![]()
تُرۡحَمُونَ
تُرْحَمُوْنَ
tur'ḥamūna
receive mercy.
The believers are one brotherhood, so make peace between two brothers of yours, being conscious of God so that you may receive mercy.
