      24:1
      س-و-ر
      سُورَةٌ سُوْرَةٌ sūratun A Surah -
      ن-ز-ل
      أَنزَلۡنَٰهَا اَنْزَلْنٰهَا anzalnāhā We (have) sent it down
      ف-ر-ض
      وَفَرَضۡنَٰهَا وَفَرَضْنٰهَا wafaraḍnāhā and We (have) made it obligatory,
      ن-ز-ل
      وَأَنزَلۡنَا وَاَنْزَلْنَا wa-anzalnā and
      ف-ي
      فِيهَآ فِیْهَاۤ fīhā therein
      ا-ي-ا
      ءَايَٰتِۭ اٰیٰتٍ āyātin Verses
      ب-ي-ن
      بَيِّنَٰتٖ بَیِّنٰتٍ bayyinātin clear,
      ل-ع-ل-ل
      لَّعَلَّكُمۡ لَّعَلَّكُمْ laʿallakum so that you may
      ذ-ك-ر
      تَذَكَّرُونَ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ tadhakkarūna take heed.
      ١ ١ (1)
      24:2
      ز-ن-ي
      ٱلزَّانِيَةُ اَلزَّانِیَةُ az-zāniyatu The fornicatress
      ز-ن-ي
      وَٱلزَّانِي وَالزَّانِیْ waz-zānī and the fornicator,
      ج-ل-د
      فَٱجۡلِدُواْ فَاجْلِدُوْا fa-ij'lidū [then] flog
      ك-ل-ل
      كُلَّ كُلَّ kulla each
      و-ح-د
      وَٰحِدٖ وَاحِدٍ wāḥidin one
      م-ن
      مِّنۡهُمَا مِّنْهُمَا min'humā of them
      م-ا-ي
      مِاْئَةَ مِائَةَ mi-ata (with) hundred
      ج-ل-د
      جَلۡدَةٖۖ جَلْدَةٍ ۪— jaldatin lash(es).
      ل-ا
      وَلَا وَّلَا walā And (let) not
      ا-خ-ذ
      تَأۡخُذۡكُم تَاْخُذْكُمْ takhudh'kum withhold you
      ب
      بِهِمَا بِهِمَا bihimā pity for them
      ر-ا-ف
      رَأۡفَةٞ رَاْفَةٌ rafatun pity for them
      ف-ي
      فِي فِیْ concerning
      د-ي-ن
      دِينِ دِیْنِ dīni (the) religion of Allah,
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi (the) religion of Allah,
      ا-ن
      إِن اِنْ in if
      ك-و-ن
      كُنتُمۡ كُنْتُمْ kuntum you
      ا-م-ن
      تُؤۡمِنُونَ تُؤْمِنُوْنَ tu'minūna believe
      ا-ل-ه
      بِٱللَّهِ بِاللّٰهِ bil-lahi in Allah
      ي-و-م
      وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ وَالْیَوْمِ wal-yawmi and the Day
      ا-خ-ر
      ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ الْاٰخِرِ ۚ— l-ākhiri the Last.
      ش-ه-د
      وَلۡيَشۡهَدۡ وَلْیَشْهَدْ walyashhad And let witness
      ع-ذ-ب
      عَذَابَهُمَا عَذَابَهُمَا ʿadhābahumā their punishment
      ط-و-ف
      طَآئِفَةٞ طَآىِٕفَةٌ ṭāifatun a group
      م-ن
      مِّنَ مِّنَ mina of
      ا-م-ن
      ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ l-mu'minīna the believers.
      ٢ ٢ (2)
      24:3
      ز-ن-ي
      ٱلزَّانِي اَلزَّانِیْ az-zānī The fornicator
      ل-ا
      لَا لَا (will) not
      ن-ك-ح
      يَنكِحُ یَنْكِحُ yankiḥu marry
      ا-ل-ل-ا
      إِلَّا اِلَّا illā except
      ز-ن-ي
      زَانِيَةً زَانِیَةً zāniyatan a fornicatress,
      ا-و
      أَوۡ اَوْ aw or
      ش-ر-ك
      مُشۡرِكَةٗ مُشْرِكَةً ؗ— mush'rikatan a polytheist woman,
      ز-ن-ي
      وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ وَّالزَّانِیَةُ waz-zāniyatu and the fornicatress -
      ل-ا
      لَا لَا (will) not
      ن-ك-ح
      يَنكِحُهَآ یَنْكِحُهَاۤ yankiḥuhā marry her
      ا-ل-ل-ا
      إِلَّا اِلَّا illā except
      ز-ن-ي
      زَانٍ زَانٍ zānin a fornicator
      ا-و
      أَوۡ اَوْ aw or
      ش-ر-ك
      مُشۡرِكٞۚ مُشْرِكٌ ۚ— mush'rikun a polytheist man.
      ح-ر-م
      وَحُرِّمَ وَحُرِّمَ waḥurrima And is forbidden
      ذ-ل-ك
      ذَٰلِكَ ذٰلِكَ dhālika that
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَى عَلَی ʿalā to
      ا-م-ن
      ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ l-mu'minīna the believers.
      ٣ ٣ (3)
      24:4
      ا-ل-ل-ذ
      وَٱلَّذِينَ وَالَّذِیْنَ wa-alladhīna And those who
      ر-م-ي
      يَرۡمُونَ یَرْمُوْنَ yarmūna accuse
      ح-ص-ن
      ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ الْمُحْصَنٰتِ l-muḥ'ṣanāti the chaste women,
      ث-م-م
      ثُمَّ ثُمَّ thumma then
      ل-م
      لَمۡ لَمْ lam not
      ا-ت-ي
      يَأۡتُواْ یَاْتُوْا yatū they bring
      ر-ب-ع
      بِأَرۡبَعَةِ بِاَرْبَعَةِ bi-arbaʿati four
      ش-ه-د
      شُهَدَآءَ شُهَدَآءَ shuhadāa witnesses,
      ج-ل-د
      فَٱجۡلِدُوهُمۡ فَاجْلِدُوْهُمْ fa-ij'lidūhum then flog them
      ث-م-ن
      ثَمَٰنِينَ ثَمٰنِیْنَ thamānīna (with) eighty
      ج-ل-د
      جَلۡدَةٗ جَلْدَةً jaldatan lashe(s)
      ل-ا
      وَلَا وَّلَا walā and (do) not
      ق-ب-ل
      تَقۡبَلُواْ تَقْبَلُوْا taqbalū accept
      ل
      لَهُمۡ لَهُمْ lahum their
      ش-ه-د
      شَهَٰدَةً شَهَادَةً shahādatan testimony
      ا-ب-د
      أَبَدٗاۚ اَبَدًا ۚ— abadan ever.
      ا-و-ل-ا
      وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ وَاُولٰٓىِٕكَ wa-ulāika And those,
      ه-م
      هُمُ هُمُ humu they
      ف-س-ق
      ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ الْفٰسِقُوْنَ l-fāsiqūna (are) the defiantly disobedient,
      ٤ ٤ (4)
      24:5
      ا-ل-ل-ا
      إِلَّا اِلَّا illā Except
      ا-ل-ل-ذ
      ٱلَّذِينَ الَّذِیْنَ alladhīna those who
      ت-و-ب
      تَابُواْ تَابُوْا tābū repent
      م-ن
      مِنۢ مِنْ min after
      ب-ع-د
      بَعۡدِ بَعْدِ baʿdi after
      ذ-ل-ك
      ذَٰلِكَ ذٰلِكَ dhālika that
      ص-ل-ح
      وَأَصۡلَحُواْ وَاَصْلَحُوْا ۚ— wa-aṣlaḥū and reform.
      ا-ن-ن
      فَإِنَّ فَاِنَّ fa-inna Then indeed,
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهَ اللّٰهَ l-laha Allah
      غ-ف-ر
      غَفُورٞ غَفُوْرٌ ghafūrun (is) Oft-Forgiving,
      ر-ح-م
      رَّحِيمٞ رَّحِیْمٌ raḥīmun Most Merciful.
      ٥ ٥ (5)
      24:6
      ا-ل-ل-ذ
      وَٱلَّذِينَ وَالَّذِیْنَ wa-alladhīna And those who
      ر-م-ي
      يَرۡمُونَ یَرْمُوْنَ yarmūna accuse
      ز-و-ج
      أَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ اَزْوَاجَهُمْ azwājahum their spouses
      ل-م
      وَلَمۡ وَلَمْ walam and not
      ك-و-ن
      يَكُن یَكُنْ yakun have
      ل
      لَّهُمۡ لَّهُمْ lahum for them
      ش-ه-د
      شُهَدَآءُ شُهَدَآءُ shuhadāu witnesses
      ا-ل-ل-ا
      إِلَّآ اِلَّاۤ illā except
      ن-ف-س
      أَنفُسُهُمۡ اَنْفُسُهُمْ anfusuhum themselves,
      ش-ه-د
      فَشَهَٰدَةُ فَشَهَادَةُ fashahādatu then (the) testimony
      ا-ح-د
      أَحَدِهِمۡ اَحَدِهِمْ aḥadihim (of) one of them
      ر-ب-ع
      أَرۡبَعُ اَرْبَعُ arbaʿu (is) four
      ش-ه-د
      شَهَٰدَٰتِۭ شَهٰدٰتٍۢ shahādātin testimonies
      ا-ل-ه
      بِٱللَّهِ بِاللّٰهِ ۙ— bil-lahi by Allah,
      ا-ن-ن
      إِنَّهُۥ اِنَّهٗ innahu that he
      م-ن
      لَمِنَ لَمِنَ lamina (is) surely of
      ص-د-ق
      ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ الصّٰدِقِیْنَ ṣ-ṣādiqīna the truthful.
      ٦ ٦ (6)
      24:7
      خ-م-س
      وَٱلۡخَٰمِسَةُ وَالْخَامِسَةُ wal-khāmisatu And the fifth
      ا-ن-ن
      أَنَّ اَنَّ anna that
      ل-ع-ن
      لَعۡنَتَ لَعْنَتَ laʿnata (the) curse of Allah
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi (the) curse of Allah
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَيۡهِ عَلَیْهِ ʿalayhi (be) upon him
      ا-ن
      إِن اِنْ in if
      ك-و-ن
      كَانَ كَانَ kāna he is
      م-ن
      مِنَ مِنَ mina of
      ك-ذ-ب
      ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ الْكٰذِبِیْنَ l-kādhibīna the liars.
      ٧ ٧ (7)
      24:8
      د-ر-ا
      وَيَدۡرَؤُاْ وَیَدْرَؤُا wayadra-u But it would prevent
      ع-ن
      عَنۡهَا عَنْهَا ʿanhā from her
      ع-ذ-ب
      ٱلۡعَذَابَ الْعَذَابَ l-ʿadhāba the punishment
      ا-ن
      أَن اَنْ an that
      ش-ه-د
      تَشۡهَدَ تَشْهَدَ tashhada she bears witness
      ر-ب-ع
      أَرۡبَعَ اَرْبَعَ arbaʿa four
      ش-ه-د
      شَهَٰدَٰتِۭ شَهٰدٰتٍ shahādātin testimonies
      ا-ل-ه
      بِٱللَّهِ بِاللّٰهِ ۙ— bil-lahi by Allah
      ا-ن-ن
      إِنَّهُۥ اِنَّهٗ innahu that he
      م-ن
      لَمِنَ لَمِنَ lamina (is) surely of
      ك-ذ-ب
      ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ الْكٰذِبِیْنَ l-kādhibīna the liars.
      ٨ ٨ (8)
      24:9
      خ-م-س
      وَٱلۡخَٰمِسَةَ وَالْخَامِسَةَ wal-khāmisata And the fifth,
      ا-ن-ن
      أَنَّ اَنَّ anna that
      غ-ض-ب
      غَضَبَ غَضَبَ ghaḍaba the wrath of Allah
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi the wrath of Allah
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَيۡهَآ عَلَیْهَاۤ ʿalayhā (be) upon her
      ا-ن
      إِن اِنْ in if
      ك-و-ن
      كَانَ كَانَ kāna he is
      م-ن
      مِنَ مِنَ mina of
      ص-د-ق
      ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ الصّٰدِقِیْنَ ṣ-ṣādiqīna the truthful.
      ٩ ٩ (9)
      24:10
      ل-و-ل-ا
      وَلَوۡلَا وَلَوْلَا walawlā And if not
      ف-ض-ل
      فَضۡلُ فَضْلُ faḍlu (for) the Grace of Allah
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi (for) the Grace of Allah
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَلَیْكُمْ ʿalaykum upon you
      ر-ح-م
      وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ وَرَحْمَتُهٗ waraḥmatuhu and His Mercy -
      ا-ن-ن
      وَأَنَّ وَاَنَّ wa-anna and that,
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهَ اللّٰهَ l-laha Allah
      ت-و-ب
      تَوَّابٌ تَوَّابٌ tawwābun (is) Oft-Returning (to Mercy),
      ح-ك-م
      حَكِيمٌ حَكِیْمٌ ḥakīmun All-Wise.
      ١٠ ١٠ (10)
