ا-ي-ي

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
یٰۤاَیُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O Prophet!
ن-ب-ا

ٱلنَّبِيُّ
النَّبِیُّ
n-nabiyu
O Prophet!
و-ق-ي
![]()
ٱتَّقِ
اتَّقِ
ittaqi
Fear
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ل-ا
![]()
وَلَا
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
ط-و-ع
![]()
تُطِعِ
تُطِعِ
tuṭiʿi
obey
ك-ف-ر
![]()
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
الْكٰفِرِیْنَ
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
ن-ف-ق
![]()
وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَۚ
وَالْمُنٰفِقِیْنَ ؕ—
wal-munāfiqīna
and the hypocrites.
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ك-و-ن
![]()
كَانَ
كَانَ
kāna
is
ع-ل-م
![]()
عَلِيمًا
عَلِیْمًا
ʿalīman
All-Knower,
ح-ك-م
![]()
حَكِيمٗا
حَكِیْمًا
ḥakīman
All-Wise.
O Prophet, be conscious of God, and don’t obey the atheists and the hypocrites, for God is most knowing and wise.

wa-ittabiʿ
And follow
م-ا

yūḥā
is inspired
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيۡكَ
اِلَیْكَ
ilayka
to you
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
from
ر-ب-ب
![]()
رَّبِّكَۚ
رَّبِّكَ ؕ—
rabbika
your Lord.
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ك-و-ن
![]()
كَانَ
كَانَ
kāna
is
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
of what
ع-م-ل
![]()
تَعۡمَلُونَ
تَعْمَلُوْنَ
taʿmalūna
you do
خ-ب-ر
![]()
خَبِيرٗا
خَبِیْرًا
khabīran
All-Aware.
Follow what has been revealed to you by inspiration from your Lord, for God is fully aware of what you do.

وَّتَوَكَّلْ
watawakkal
And put your trust
ع-ل-ي

عَلَى
عَلَی
ʿalā
in
ا-ل-ه

ٱللَّهِۚ
اللّٰهِ ؕ—
l-lahi
Allah.
ك-ف-ي
![]()
وَكَفَىٰ
وَكَفٰی
wakafā
And Allah is sufficient
ا-ل-ه
![]()
بِٱللَّهِ
بِاللّٰهِ
bil-lahi
And Allah is sufficient
و-ك-ل
![]()
وَكِيلٗا
وَكِیْلًا
wakīlan
(as) Disposer of affairs.
So trust in God, for God is enough of a patron.

Allah (has) made
ا-ل-ه

Allah (has) made
ر-ج-ل

لِرَجُلٖ
لِرَجُلٍ
lirajulin
for any man
م-ن
![]()
مِّن
مِّنْ
min
[of]
ق-ل-ب
![]()
قَلۡبَيۡنِ
قَلْبَیْنِ
qalbayni
two hearts
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
ج-و-ف
![]()
جَوۡفِهِۦۚ
جَوْفِهٖ ۚ—
jawfihi
his interior.
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
And not
ج-ع-ل
![]()
جَعَلَ
جَعَلَ
jaʿala
He (has) made
ز-و-ج
![]()
أَزۡوَٰجَكُمُ
اَزْوَاجَكُمُ
azwājakumu
your wives
ا-ل-ل
![]()
ٱلَّٰٓـِٔي
الّٰٓـِٔیْ
allāī
whom
ظ-ه-ر
![]()
تُظَٰهِرُونَ
تُظٰهِرُوْنَ
tuẓāhirūna
you declare unlawful
م-ن
![]()
مِنۡهُنَّ
مِنْهُنَّ
min'hunna
[of them]
ا-م-م
![]()
أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡۚ
اُمَّهٰتِكُمْ ۚ—
ummahātikum
(as) your mothers.
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
And not
ج-ع-ل
![]()
جَعَلَ
جَعَلَ
jaʿala
He has made
د-ع-و
![]()
أَدۡعِيَآءَكُمۡ
اَدْعِیَآءَكُمْ
adʿiyāakum
your adopted sons
ب-ن-و
![]()
أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡۚ
اَبْنَآءَكُمْ ؕ—
abnāakum
your sons.
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
ذٰلِكُمْ
dhālikum
That
ق-و-ل
![]()
قَوۡلُكُم
قَوْلُكُمْ
qawlukum
(is) your saying
ف-و-ه
![]()
بِأَفۡوَٰهِكُمۡۖ
بِاَفْوَاهِكُمْ ؕ—
bi-afwāhikum
by your mouths,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
وَٱللَّهُ
وَاللّٰهُ
wal-lahu
but Allah
ق-و-ل
![]()
يَقُولُ
یَقُوْلُ
yaqūlu
says
ح-ق-ق
![]()
ٱلۡحَقَّ
الْحَقَّ
l-ḥaqa
the truth,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ه-د-ي
![]()
يَهۡدِي
یَهْدِی
yahdī
guides
س-ب-ل
![]()
ٱلسَّبِيلَ
السَّبِیْلَ
s-sabīla
(to) the Way.
God has not put two hearts in a man; nor made the spouses you have rejected into your mothers, nor made your adoptees into your sons— those are your own expressions. But God speaks the truth, and that guides the way.

د-ع-و

اُدْعُوْهُمْ
id'ʿūhum
Call them
ا-ب-و

لِأٓبَآئِهِمۡ
لِاٰبَآىِٕهِمْ
liābāihim
by their fathers;
ه-و
![]()
هُوَ
هُوَ
huwa
it
ق-س-ط
![]()
أَقۡسَطُ
اَقْسَطُ
aqsaṭu
(is) more just
ع-ن-د
![]()
عِندَ
عِنْدَ
ʿinda
near
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِۚ
اللّٰهِ ۚ—
l-lahi
Allah.
ا-ن
![]()
فَإِن
فَاِنْ
fa-in
But if
ل-م
![]()
لَّمۡ
لَّمْ
lam
not
ع-ل-م
![]()
تَعۡلَمُوٓاْ
تَعْلَمُوْۤا
taʿlamū
you know
ا-ب-و
![]()
ءَابَآءَهُمۡ
اٰبَآءَهُمْ
ābāahum
their fathers -
ا-خ-و
![]()
فَإِخۡوَٰنُكُمۡ
فَاِخْوَانُكُمْ
fa-ikh'wānukum
then (they are) your brothers
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
in
د-ي-ن
![]()
ٱلدِّينِ
الدِّیْنِ
d-dīni
[the] religion
و-ل-ي
![]()
وَمَوَٰلِيكُمۡۚ
وَمَوَالِیْكُمْ ؕ—
wamawālīkum
and your friends.
ل-ي-س
![]()
وَلَيۡسَ
وَلَیْسَ
walaysa
But not is
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
عَلَیْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
upon you
ج-ن-ح
![]()
جُنَاحٞ
جُنَاحٌ
junāḥun
any blame
ف-ي
![]()
فِيمَآ
فِیْمَاۤ
fīmā
in what
خ-ط-ا
![]()
أَخۡطَأۡتُم
اَخْطَاْتُمْ
akhṭatum
you made a mistake
ب
![]()
بِهِۦ
بِهٖ ۙ—
bihi
in it,
ل-ك-ن
![]()
وَلَٰكِن
وَلٰكِنْ
walākin
but
م-ا
![]()
مَّا
مَّا
mā
what
ع-م-د
![]()
تَعَمَّدَتۡ
تَعَمَّدَتْ
taʿammadat
intended
ق-ل-ب
![]()
قُلُوبُكُمۡۚ
قُلُوْبُكُمْ ؕ—
qulūbukum
your hearts.
ك-و-ن
![]()
وَكَانَ
وَكَانَ
wakāna
And Allah
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
And Allah
غ-ف-ر
![]()
غَفُورٗا
غَفُوْرًا
ghafūran
(is) Oft-Forgiving,
ر-ح-م
![]()
رَّحِيمًا
رَّحِیْمًا
raḥīman
Most Merciful.
Call them after their fathers; that is more just in the sight of God. But if you don’t know their fathers, then they are your brothers in religion, or your friends. Yet there is no blame on you if you make a mistake in this; it is a matter of what your hearts intend. For God is very forgiving, very merciful.

an-nabiyu
The Prophet
و-ل-ي

أَوۡلَىٰ
اَوْلٰی
awlā
(is) closer
ا-م-ن
![]()
بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ
bil-mu'minīna
to the believers
م-ن
![]()
مِنۡ
مِنْ
min
than
ن-ف-س
![]()
أَنفُسِهِمۡۖ
اَنْفُسِهِمْ
anfusihim
their own selves,
ز-و-ج
![]()
وَأَزۡوَٰجُهُۥٓ
وَاَزْوَاجُهٗۤ
wa-azwājuhu
and his wives
ا-م-م
![]()
أُمَّهَٰتُهُمۡۗ
اُمَّهٰتُهُمْ ؕ—
ummahātuhum
(are) their mothers.
ا-و-ل
![]()
وَأُوْلُواْ
وَاُولُوا
wa-ulū
And possessors
ر-ح-م
![]()
ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ
الْاَرْحَامِ
l-arḥāmi
(of) relationships,
ب-ع-ض
![]()
بَعۡضُهُمۡ
بَعْضُهُمْ
baʿḍuhum
some of them
و-ل-ي
![]()
أَوۡلَىٰ
اَوْلٰی
awlā
(are) closer
ب-ع-ض
![]()
بِبَعۡضٖ
بِبَعْضٍ
bibaʿḍin
to another
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِیْ
fī
in
ك-ت-ب
![]()
كِتَٰبِ
كِتٰبِ
kitābi
(the) Decree
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
م-ن
![]()
مِنَ
مِنَ
mina
than
ا-م-ن
![]()
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
ه-ج-ر
![]()
وَٱلۡمُهَٰجِرِينَ
وَالْمُهٰجِرِیْنَ
wal-muhājirīna
and the emigrants,
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّآ
اِلَّاۤ
illā
except
ا-ن
![]()
أَن
اَنْ
an
that
ف-ع-ل
![]()
تَفۡعَلُوٓاْ
تَفْعَلُوْۤا
tafʿalū
you do
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَىٰٓ
اِلٰۤی
ilā
to
و-ل-ي
![]()
أَوۡلِيَآئِكُم
اَوْلِیٰٓىِٕكُمْ
awliyāikum
your friends
ع-ر-ف
![]()
مَّعۡرُوفٗاۚ
مَّعْرُوْفًا ؕ—
maʿrūfan
a kindness.
ك-و-ن
![]()
كَانَ
كَانَ
kāna
That is
ذ-ل-ك
![]()
ذَٰلِكَ
ذٰلِكَ
dhālika
That is
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
in
ك-ت-ب
![]()
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
الْكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
the Book
س-ط-ر
![]()
مَسۡطُورٗا
مَسْطُوْرًا
masṭūran
written.
The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves, and his wives are their mothers. Those who have blood relations are closer to each other, in the decree of God, than the believers and the refugees: but treat your friends fairly. That is written in the Book.

We took

ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ
النَّبِیّٖنَ
n-nabiyīna
the Prophets
و-ث-ق

مِيثَٰقَهُمۡ
مِیْثَاقَهُمْ
mīthāqahum
their Covenant
م-ن
![]()
وَمِنكَ
وَمِنْكَ
waminka
and from you
م-ن
![]()
وَمِن
وَمِنْ
wamin
and from
ن-و-ح
![]()
نُّوحٖ
نُّوْحٍ
nūḥin
Nuh
ا-ب-ر
![]()
وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
وَّاِبْرٰهِیْمَ
wa-ib'rāhīma
and Ibrahim
م-و-س
![]()
وَمُوسَىٰ
وَمُوْسٰی
wamūsā
and Musa
ع-ي-س
![]()
وَعِيسَى
وَعِیْسَی
waʿīsā
and Isa,
ب-ن-و
![]()
ٱبۡنِ
ابْنِ
ib'ni
son
م-ر-ي-م
![]()
مَرۡيَمَۖ
مَرْیَمَ ۪—
maryama
(of) Maryam.
ا-خ-ذ
![]()
وَأَخَذۡنَا
وَاَخَذْنَا
wa-akhadhnā
And We took
م-ن
![]()
مِنۡهُم
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
from them
و-ث-ق
![]()
مِّيثَٰقًا
مِّیْثَاقًا
mīthāqan
a covenant
غ-ل-ظ
![]()
غَلِيظٗا
غَلِیْظًا
ghalīẓan
strong
And We accepted their covenant from the prophets, and from you, and from Noah and Abraham, and Moses and Jesus Son of Mary: We took an inviolable covenant from them,

لِّیَسْـَٔلَ
liyasala
That He may ask
ص-د-ق

ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
الصّٰدِقِیْنَ
ṣ-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
ع-ن

عَن
عَنْ
ʿan
about
ص-د-ق
![]()
صِدۡقِهِمۡۚ
صِدْقِهِمْ ۚ—
ṣid'qihim
their truth.
ع-د-د
![]()
وَأَعَدَّ
وَاَعَدَّ
wa-aʿadda
And He has prepared
ك-ف-ر
![]()
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
لِلْكٰفِرِیْنَ
lil'kāfirīna
for the disbelievers
ع-ذ-ب
![]()
عَذَابًا
عَذَابًا
ʿadhāban
a punishment
ا-ل-م
![]()
أَلِيمٗا
اَلِیْمًا
alīman
painful.
that God may question the truthful about their truth; and God has prepared a painful penalty for the scoffers.

O you
ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna

ءَامَنُواْ
اٰمَنُوا
āmanū
believe!
ذ-ك-ر

ٱذۡكُرُواْ
اذْكُرُوْا
udh'kurū
Remember
ن-ع-م

نِعۡمَةَ
نِعْمَةَ
niʿ'mata
(the) Favor
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
عَلَیْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
upon you
ا-ذ
![]()
إِذۡ
اِذْ
idh
when
ج-ي-ا
![]()
جَآءَتۡكُمۡ
جَآءَتْكُمْ
jāatkum
came to you
ج-ن-د
![]()
جُنُودٞ
جُنُوْدٌ
junūdun
(the) hosts
ر-س-ل
![]()
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا
فَاَرْسَلْنَا
fa-arsalnā
and We sent
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
عَلَیْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
upon them
ر-و-ح
![]()
رِيحٗا
رِیْحًا
rīḥan
a wind
ج-ن-د
![]()
وَجُنُودٗا
وَّجُنُوْدًا
wajunūdan
and hosts
ل-م
![]()
لَّمۡ
لَّمْ
lam
not
ر-ا-ي
![]()
تَرَوۡهَاۚ
تَرَوْهَا ؕ—
tarawhā
you (could) see them.
ك-و-ن
![]()
وَكَانَ
وَكَانَ
wakāna
And Allah is
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهُ
اللّٰهُ
l-lahu
And Allah is
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
of what
ع-م-ل
![]()
تَعۡمَلُونَ
تَعْمَلُوْنَ
taʿmalūna
you do
ب-ص-ر
![]()
بَصِيرًا
بَصِیْرًا
baṣīran
All-Seer.
Believers, remember God’s grace on you when forces came upon you and We sent a wind against them, and forces you did not see. For God sees whatever you do.

above you

وَمِنۡ
وَمِنْ
wamin
and from
س-ف-ل

أَسۡفَلَ
اَسْفَلَ
asfala
below
م-ن
![]()
مِنكُمۡ
مِنْكُمْ
minkum
you,
ا-ذ
![]()
وَإِذۡ
وَاِذْ
wa-idh
and when
ز-ي-غ
![]()
زَاغَتِ
زَاغَتِ
zāghati
grew wild
ب-ص-ر
![]()
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
الْاَبْصَارُ
l-abṣāru
the eyes
ب-ل-غ
![]()
وَبَلَغَتِ
وَبَلَغَتِ
wabalaghati
and reached
ق-ل-ب
![]()
ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
الْقُلُوْبُ
l-qulūbu
the hearts
ح-ن-ج-ر
![]()
ٱلۡحَنَاجِرَ
الْحَنَاجِرَ
l-ḥanājira
the throats,
ظ-ن-ن
![]()
وَتَظُنُّونَ
وَتَظُنُّوْنَ
wataẓunnūna
and you assumed
ا-ل-ه
![]()
بِٱللَّهِ
بِاللّٰهِ
bil-lahi
about Allah
ظ-ن-ن
![]()
ٱلظُّنُونَا۠
الظُّنُوْنَا
ẓ-ẓunūnā
the assumptions.
When they came on you from above you and below you, your eyes dimmed and your hearts were in your throats and you imagined conceptions of God.
