    Surah Jathiyah

      ح-م
      حمٓ حٰمٓ hha-meem Ha Meem.
      ١ ۟ۚ (1)

      ​H.M.

      45:2
      ن-ز-ل
      تَنزِيلُ تَنْزِیْلُ tanzīlu (The) revelation
      ك-ت-ب
      ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ الْكِتٰبِ l-kitābi (of) the Book
      م-ن
      مِنَ مِنَ mina (is) from
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi Allah
      ع-ز-ز
      ٱلۡعَزِيزِ الْعَزِیْزِ l-ʿazīzi the All-Mighty,
      ح-ك-م
      ٱلۡحَكِيمِ الْحَكِیْمِ l-ḥakīmi the All-Wise.
      ٢ ۟ (2)

      ​Revelation of the Book from God, the Mighty, the Wise:

      45:3
      ا-ن-ن
      إِنَّ اِنَّ inna Indeed,
      ف-ي
      فِي فِی in
      س-م-و
      ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ السَّمٰوٰتِ s-samāwāti the heavens
      ا-ر-ض
      وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَالْاَرْضِ wal-arḍi and the earth
      ا-ي-ا
      لَأٓيَٰتٖ لَاٰیٰتٍ laāyātin surely (are) Signs
      ا-م-ن
      لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ lil'mu'minīna for the believers.
      ٣ ۟ؕ (3)

      In the heavens and the earth are signs for believers;

      45:4
      ف-ي
      وَفِي وَفِیْ wafī And in
      خ-ل-ق
      خَلۡقِكُمۡ خَلْقِكُمْ khalqikum your creation
      م-ا
      وَمَا وَمَا wamā and what
      ب-ث-ث
      يَبُثُّ یَبُثُّ yabuthu He disperses
      م-ن
      مِن مِنْ min of
      د-ب-ب
      دَآبَّةٍ دَآبَّةٍ dābbatin (the) moving creatures
      ا-ي-ا
      ءَايَٰتٞ اٰیٰتٌ āyātun (are) Signs
      ق-و-م
      لِّقَوۡمٖ لِّقَوْمٍ liqawmin for a people
      ي-ق-ن
      يُوقِنُونَ یُّوْقِنُوْنَ yūqinūna who are certain.
      ٤ ۟ۙ (4)

      ​and in your constitution, and animals God propagates, are signs for a people who are sure.

      45:5
      خ-ل-ف
      وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ وَاخْتِلَافِ wa-ikh'tilāfi And (in the) alternation
      ل-ي-ل
      ٱلَّيۡلِ الَّیْلِ al-layli (of) the night
      ن-ه-ر
      وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَالنَّهَارِ wan-nahāri and the day
      م-ا
      وَمَآ وَمَاۤ wamā and what
      ن-ز-ل
      أَنزَلَ اَنْزَلَ anzala Allah sends down
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهُ اللّٰهُ l-lahu Allah sends down
      م-ن
      مِنَ مِنَ mina from
      س-م-و
      ٱلسَّمَآءِ السَّمَآءِ s-samāi the sky
      م-ن
      مِن مِنْ min of
      ر-ز-ق
      رِّزۡقٖ رِّزْقٍ riz'qin (the) provision
      ح-ي-ي
      فَأَحۡيَا فَاَحْیَا fa-aḥyā and gives life
      ب
      بِهِ بِهِ bihi thereby
      ا-ر-ض
      ٱلۡأَرۡضَ الْاَرْضَ l-arḍa (to) the earth
      ب-ع-د
      بَعۡدَ بَعْدَ baʿda after
      م-و-ت
      مَوۡتِهَا مَوْتِهَا mawtihā its death,
      ص-ر-ف
      وَتَصۡرِيفِ وَتَصْرِیْفِ wataṣrīfi and (in) directing
      ر-و-ح
      ٱلرِّيَٰحِ الرِّیٰحِ r-riyāḥi (the) winds
      ا-ي-ا
      ءَايَٰتٞ اٰیٰتٌ āyātun (are) Signs
      ق-و-م
      لِّقَوۡمٖ لِّقَوْمٍ liqawmin for a people
      ع-ق-ل
      يَعۡقِلُونَ یَّعْقِلُوْنَ yaʿqilūna who reason.
      ٥ ۟ (5)

      ​And in the alternation of the night and day, and the provision God sends down from the sky, by which God enlivens the earth after its death, and in the shifting of the winds, are signs for intelligent people.

      45:6
      ت-ل-ك
      تِلۡكَ تِلْكَ til'ka These
      ا-ي-ا
      ءَايَٰتُ اٰیٰتُ āyātu (are the) Verses,
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
      ت-ل-و
      نَتۡلُوهَا نَتْلُوْهَا natlūhā We recite them
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَيۡكَ عَلَیْكَ ʿalayka to you
      ح-ق-ق
      بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ— bil-ḥaqi in truth.
      ا-ي-ي
      فَبِأَيِّ فَبِاَیِّ fabi-ayyi Then in what
      ح-د-ث
      حَدِيثِۭ حَدِیْثٍ ḥadīthin statement
      ب-ع-د
      بَعۡدَ بَعْدَ baʿda after
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi Allah
      ا-ي-ا
      وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَاٰیٰتِهٖ waāyātihi and His Verses
      ا-م-ن
      يُؤۡمِنُونَ یُؤْمِنُوْنَ yu'minūna will they believe?
      ٦ ۟ (6)

      ​Those are the signs of God, which We recite to you in truth; so in what tale will they believe, other than God and the signs of God?

      45:7
      و-ي-ل
      وَيۡلٞ وَیْلٌ waylun Woe
      ك-ل-ل
      لِّكُلِّ لِّكُلِّ likulli to every
      ا-ف-ك
      أَفَّاكٍ اَفَّاكٍ affākin liar
      ا-ث-م
      أَثِيمٖ اَثِیْمٍ athīmin sinful
      ٧ ۟ۙ (7)

      ​Woe to every lying sinner

      45:8
      س-م-ع
      يَسۡمَعُ یَّسْمَعُ yasmaʿu Who hears
      ا-ي-ا
      ءَايَٰتِ اٰیٰتِ āyāti (the) Verses
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
      ت-ل-و
      تُتۡلَىٰ تُتْلٰی tut'lā recited
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَيۡهِ عَلَیْهِ ʿalayhi to him,
      ث-م-م
      ثُمَّ ثُمَّ thumma then
      ص-ر-ر
      يُصِرُّ یُصِرُّ yuṣirru persists
      ك-ب-ر
      مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا مُسْتَكْبِرًا mus'takbiran arrogantly
      ك-ا-ن
      كَأَن كَاَنْ ka-an as if
      ل-م
      لَّمۡ لَّمْ lam not
      س-م-ع
      يَسۡمَعۡهَاۖ یَسْمَعْهَا ۚ— yasmaʿhā he heard them.
      ب-ش-ر
      فَبَشِّرۡهُ فَبَشِّرْهُ fabashir'hu So give him tidings
      ع-ذ-ب
      بِعَذَابٍ بِعَذَابٍ biʿadhābin (of) a punishment
      ا-ل-م
      أَلِيمٖ اَلِیْمٍ alīmin painful.
      ٨ ۟ (8)

      ​who while hearing the signs of God being recited to him still persists in arrogance as if he had not heard them. So announce a painful penalty to him.

      45:9
      ا-ذ-ا
      وَإِذَا وَاِذَا wa-idhā And when
      ع-ل-م
      عَلِمَ عَلِمَ ʿalima he knows
      م-ن
      مِنۡ مِنْ min of
      ا-ي-ا
      ءَايَٰتِنَا اٰیٰتِنَا āyātinā Our Verses,
      ش-ي-ا
      شَيۡـًٔا شَیْـَٔا shayan anything,
      ا-خ-ذ
      ٱتَّخَذَهَا ١تَّخَذَهَا ittakhadhahā he takes them
      ه-ز-ا
      هُزُوًاۚ هُزُوًا ؕ— huzuwan (in) ridicule.
      ا-و-ل-ا
      أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ اُولٰٓىِٕكَ ulāika Those -
      ل
      لَهُمۡ لَهُمْ lahum for them
      ع-ذ-ب
      عَذَابٞ عَذَابٌ ʿadhābun (is) a punishment
      ه-و-ن
      مُّهِينٞ مُّهِیْنٌ muhīnun humiliating.
      ٩ ۟ؕ (9)

      ​And when he learns something of Our signs, he takes it as a joke; for his ilk there is a humiliating penalty.

      45:10
      م-ن
      مِّن مِنْ min Before them
      و-ر-ي
      وَرَآئِهِمۡ وَّرَآىِٕهِمْ warāihim Before them
      ج-ه-ن-م
      جَهَنَّمُۖ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ— jahannamu (is) Hell
      ل-ا
      وَلَا وَلَا walā and not
      غ-ن-ي
      يُغۡنِي یُغْنِیْ yugh'nī will avail
      ع-ن
      عَنۡهُم عَنْهُمْ ʿanhum them
      م-ا
      مَّا مَّا what
      ك-س-ب
      كَسَبُواْ كَسَبُوْا kasabū they had earned
      ش-ي-ا
      شَيۡـٔٗا شَیْـًٔا shayan anything,
      ل-ا
      وَلَا وَّلَا walā and not
      م-ا
      مَا مَا what
      ا-خ-ذ
      ٱتَّخَذُواْ اتَّخَذُوْا ittakhadhū they had taken
      م-ن
      مِن مِنْ min besides
      د-و-ن
      دُونِ دُوْنِ dūni besides
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi Allah
      و-ل-ي
      أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ اَوْلِیَآءَ ۚ— awliyāa (as) protectors.
      ل
      وَلَهُمۡ وَلَهُمْ walahum And for them
      ع-ذ-ب
      عَذَابٌ عَذَابٌ ʿadhābun (is) a punishment
      ع-ظ-م
      عَظِيمٌ عَظِیْمٌ ʿaẓīmun great.
      ١٠ ۟ؕ (10)

      ​Before them is hell, and nothing of what they have earned will help them, nor any patron they have adopted other than God; and there is a severe chastisement in store for them.
