ح-م

حمٓ حٰمٓ hha-meem Ha Meem.

١ ۟ۚۛ (1)

ك-ت-ب

وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَالْكِتٰبِ wal-kitābi By the Book

ب-ي-ن

ٱلۡمُبِينِ الْمُبِیْنِ l-mubīni the clear,

٢ ۟ۙۛ (2)

By the clarifying Book—

43:3

ا-ن-ن

إِنَّا اِنَّا innā Indeed, We

ج-ع-ل

جَعَلۡنَٰهُ جَعَلْنٰهُ jaʿalnāhu (have) made it

ق-ر-ا

قُرۡءَٰنًا قُرْءٰنًا qur'ānan a Quran

ع-ر-ب

عَرَبِيّٗا عَرَبِیًّا ʿarabiyyan (in) Arabic

ل-ع-ل-ل

لَّعَلَّكُمۡ لَّعَلَّكُمْ laʿallakum so that you may

ع-ق-ل

تَعۡقِلُونَ تَعْقِلُوْنَ taʿqilūna understand.

٣ ۟ۚ (3)

We have made it an Arabic Recital that you may understand.

43:4

ا-ن-ن

وَإِنَّهُۥ وَاِنَّهٗ wa-innahu And indeed, it

ف-ي

فِيٓ فِیْۤ fī (is) in

ا-م-م

أُمِّ اُمِّ ummi (the) Mother

ك-ت-ب

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ الْكِتٰبِ l-kitābi (of) the Book

ل-د-ي

لَدَيۡنَا لَدَیْنَا ladaynā with Us,

ع-ل-و

لَعَلِيٌّ لَعَلِیٌّ laʿaliyyun surely exalted,

ح-ك-م

حَكِيمٌ حَكِیْمٌ ḥakīmun full of wisdom.

٤ ۟ؕ (4)

And it is in the matrix of scripture, in Our presence, sublime, full of wisdom.

43:5

ض-ر-ب

أَفَنَضۡرِبُ اَفَنَضْرِبُ afanaḍribu Then should We take away

ع-ن

عَنكُمُ عَنْكُمُ ʿankumu from you

ذ-ك-ر

ٱلذِّكۡرَ الذِّكْرَ dh-dhik'ra the Reminder,

ص-ف-ح

صَفۡحًا صَفْحًا ṣafḥan disregarding (you),

ا-ن

أَن اَنْ an because

ك-و-ن

كُنتُمۡ كُنْتُمْ kuntum you are

ق-و-م

قَوۡمٗا قَوْمًا qawman a people

س-ر-ف

مُّسۡرِفِينَ مُّسْرِفِیْنَ mus'rifīna transgressing?

٥ ۟ (5)

Should We pass you over with the Reminder, since you are a wasteful people?

ك-م

وَكَمۡ وَكَمْ wakam And how many

ر-س-ل

أَرۡسَلۡنَا اَرْسَلْنَا arsalnā And how many

م-ن

مِن مِنْ min We sent

ن-ب-ا

نَّبِيّٖ نَّبِیٍّ nabiyyin a Prophet

ف-ي

فِي فِی fī among

ا-و-ل

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ l-awalīna the former (people),

٦ ۟ (6)

How many prophets have We sent among the ancients?

43:7

م-ا

وَمَا وَمَا wamā And not

ا-ت-ي

يَأۡتِيهِم یَاْتِیْهِمْ yatīhim came to them

م-ن

مِّن مِّنْ min any Prophet

ن-ب-ا

نَّبِيٍّ نَّبِیٍّ nabiyyin any Prophet

ا-ل-ل-ا

إِلَّا اِلَّا illā but

ك-و-ن

كَانُواْ كَانُوْا kānū they used to

بِهِۦ بِهٖ bihi mock at him.

ه-ز-ا

يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ یَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ yastahziūna mock at him.

٧ ۟ (7)

But they mocked any prophet who came to them.

43:8

ه-ل-ك

فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآ فَاَهْلَكْنَاۤ fa-ahlaknā Then We destroyed

ش-د-د

أَشَدَّ اَشَدَّ ashadda stronger

م-ن

مِنۡهُم مِنْهُمْ min'hum than them

ب-ط-ش

بَطۡشٗا بَطْشًا baṭshan (in) power

م-ض-ي

وَمَضَىٰ وَّمَضٰی wamaḍā and has passed

م-ث-ل

مَثَلُ مَثَلُ mathalu (the) example

ا-و-ل

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ l-awalīna (of) the former (people).

٨ ۟ (8)

So We destroyed the most ruthless of them, and so transpired the example of the ancients.

43:9

ل-ا-ن

وَلَئِن وَلَىِٕنْ wala-in And if

س-ا-ل

سَأَلۡتَهُم سَاَلْتَهُمْ sa-altahum you ask them,

م-ن

مَّنۡ مَّنْ man "Who

خ-ل-ق

خَلَقَ خَلَقَ khalaqa created

س-م-و

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ السَّمٰوٰتِ s-samāwāti the heavens

ا-ر-ض

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَالْاَرْضَ wal-arḍa and the earth?"

ق-و-ل

لَيَقُولُنَّ لَیَقُوْلُنَّ layaqūlunna They will surely say,

خ-ل-ق

خَلَقَهُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ khalaqahunna "Created them

ع-ز-ز

ٱلۡعَزِيزُ الْعَزِیْزُ l-ʿazīzu the All-Mighty,

ع-ل-م

ٱلۡعَلِيمُ الْعَلِیْمُ l-ʿalīmu the All-Knower,"

٩ ۟ۙ (9)

Were you to ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they would surely say the Almighty, the Omniscient created them;

ا-ل-ل-ذ

ٱلَّذِي الَّذِیْ alladhī The One Who

ج-ع-ل

جَعَلَ جَعَلَ jaʿala made

لَكُمُ لَكُمُ lakumu for you

ا-ر-ض

ٱلۡأَرۡضَ الْاَرْضَ l-arḍa the earth

م-ه-د

مَهۡدٗا مَهْدًا mahdan a bed,

ج-ع-ل

وَجَعَلَ وَّجَعَلَ wajaʿala and made

لَكُمۡ لَكُمْ lakum for you

ف-ي

فِيهَا فِیْهَا fīhā therein

س-ب-ل

سُبُلٗا سُبُلًا subulan roads

ل-ع-ل-ل

لَّعَلَّكُمۡ لَّعَلَّكُمْ laʿallakum so that you may

ه-د-ي

تَهۡتَدُونَ تَهْتَدُوْنَ tahtadūna (be) guided,

١٠ ۟ۚ (10)

the One who made the earth smooth for you, and made roads for you thereupon, that you may find direction;
