ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
الْكِتٰبِ
l-kitābi
(of) the Book
م-ن

مِنَ
مِنَ
mina
(is) from
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ع-ز-ز
![]()
ٱلۡعَزِيزِ
الْعَزِیْزِ
l-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty,
ح-ك-م
![]()
ٱلۡحَكِيمِ
الْحَكِیْمِ
l-ḥakīmi
the All-Wise
Revelation of the Book is from God, the Mighty, the Wise:

Not
خ-ل-ق

خَلَقۡنَا
خَلَقْنَا
khalaqnā
We created
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
s-samāwāti
the heavens
ا-ر-ض
![]()
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
وَالْاَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
م-ا
![]()
وَمَا
وَمَا
wamā
and what
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنَهُمَآ
بَیْنَهُمَاۤ
baynahumā
(is) between both of them
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّا
اِلَّا
illā
except
ح-ق-ق
![]()
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
بِالْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
ا-ج-ل
![]()
وَأَجَلٖ
وَاَجَلٍ
wa-ajalin
and (for) a term
س-م-و
![]()
مُّسَمّٗىۚ
مُّسَمًّی ؕ—
musamman
appointed.
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
وَٱلَّذِينَ
وَالَّذِیْنَ
wa-alladhīna
But those who
ك-ف-ر
![]()
كَفَرُواْ
كَفَرُوْا
kafarū
disbelieve,
ع-م-م-ا
![]()
عَمَّآ
عَمَّاۤ
ʿammā
from what
ن-ذ-ر
![]()
أُنذِرُواْ
اُنْذِرُوْا
undhirū
they are warned,
ع-ر-ض
![]()
مُعۡرِضُونَ
مُعْرِضُوْنَ
muʿ'riḍūna
(are) turning away.
We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them but in due proportion and for a definite term. But those who scoff turn away from the warning they’ve been given.

"Do you see

تَدۡعُونَ
تَدْعُوْنَ
tadʿūna
you call
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
besides
د-و-ن
![]()
دُونِ
دُوْنِ
dūni
besides
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah?
ر-ا-ي
![]()
أَرُونِي
اَرُوْنِیْ
arūnī
Show me
م-ا-ذ-ا
![]()
مَاذَا
مَاذَا
mādhā
what
خ-ل-ق
![]()
خَلَقُواْ
خَلَقُوْا
khalaqū
they have created
م-ن
![]()
مِنَ
مِنَ
mina
of
ا-ر-ض
![]()
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
الْاَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
ا-م
![]()
أَمۡ
اَمْ
am
or
ل
![]()
لَهُمۡ
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
ش-ر-ك
![]()
شِرۡكٞ
شِرْكٌ
shir'kun
(is) any share
ف-ي
![]()
فِي
فِی
fī
in
س-م-و
![]()
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِۖ
السَّمٰوٰتِ ؕ—
s-samāwāti
the heavens?
ا-ت-ي
![]()
ٱئۡتُونِي
اِیْتُوْنِیْ
i'tūnī
Bring me
ك-ت-ب
![]()
بِكِتَٰبٖ
بِكِتٰبٍ
bikitābin
a book
م-ن
![]()
مِّن
مِّنْ
min
before
ق-ب-ل
![]()
قَبۡلِ
قَبْلِ
qabli
before
ه-ا-ذ
![]()
هَٰذَآ
هٰذَاۤ
hādhā
this
ا-و
![]()
أَوۡ
اَوْ
aw
or
ا-ث-ر
![]()
أَثَٰرَةٖ
اَثٰرَةٍ
athāratin
traces
م-ن
![]()
مِّنۡ
مِّنْ
min
of
ع-ل-م
![]()
عِلۡمٍ
عِلْمٍ
ʿil'min
knowledge,
ا-ن
![]()
إِن
اِنْ
in
if
ك-و-ن
![]()
كُنتُمۡ
كُنْتُمْ
kuntum
you are
ص-د-ق
![]()
صَٰدِقِينَ
صٰدِقِیْنَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful."
Say, “Do you see what you pray to other than God? Show me what they have created of the earth, or what part they have in the heavens! Bring me a book of knowledge, whether from before or after this one, if you are being truthful!”

And who
ض-ل-ل

أَضَلُّ
اَضَلُّ
aḍallu
(is) more astray
م-ن

مِمَّن
مِمَّنْ
mimman
than (he) who
د-ع-و
![]()
يَدۡعُواْ
یَّدْعُوْا
yadʿū
calls
م-ن
![]()
مِن
مِنْ
min
besides
د-و-ن
![]()
دُونِ
دُوْنِ
dūni
besides
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah,
م-ن
![]()
مَن
مَنْ
man
who
ل-ا
![]()
لَّا
لَّا
lā
will not respond
ج-و-ب
![]()
يَسۡتَجِيبُ
یَسْتَجِیْبُ
yastajību
will not respond
ل
![]()
لَهُۥٓ
لَهٗۤ
lahu
to him
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَىٰ
اِلٰی
ilā
until
ي-و-م
![]()
يَوۡمِ
یَوْمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
ق-و-م
![]()
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
الْقِیٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) Resurrection,
ه-م
![]()
وَهُمۡ
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
ع-ن
![]()
عَن
عَنْ
ʿan
of
د-ع-و
![]()
دُعَآئِهِمۡ
دُعَآىِٕهِمْ
duʿāihim
their calls
غ-ف-ل
![]()
غَٰفِلُونَ
غٰفِلُوْنَ
ghāfilūna
(are) unaware.
And who is more astray than one who prays to what is not God, which will not answer him until the day of resurrection, and which are heedless of anyone’s prayer?

wa-idhā
And when
ح-ش-ر

حُشِرَ
حُشِرَ
ḥushira
are gathered
ن-و-س
![]()
ٱلنَّاسُ
النَّاسُ
n-nāsu
the people,
ك-و-ن
![]()
كَانُواْ
كَانُوْا
kānū
they will be
ل
![]()
لَهُمۡ
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
ع-د-و
![]()
أَعۡدَآءٗ
اَعْدَآءً
aʿdāan
enemies
ك-و-ن
![]()
وَكَانُواْ
وَّكَانُوْا
wakānū
and they will be
ع-ب-د
![]()
بِعِبَادَتِهِمۡ
بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ
biʿibādatihim
of their worship
ك-ف-ر
![]()
كَٰفِرِينَ
كٰفِرِیْنَ
kāfirīna
deniers.
And when human beings are gathered together, those will be enemies to them, and will repudiate their worship.

ا-ذ-ا

وَإِذَا
وَاِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
ت-ل-و
![]()
تُتۡلَىٰ
تُتْلٰی
tut'lā
are recited
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
عَلَیْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
to them
ا-ي-ا
![]()
ءَايَٰتُنَا
اٰیٰتُنَا
āyātunā
Our Verses
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيِّنَٰتٖ
بَیِّنٰتٍ
bayyinātin
clear,
ق-و-ل
![]()
قَالَ
قَالَ
qāla
say
ا-ل-ل-ذ
![]()
ٱلَّذِينَ
الَّذِیْنَ
alladhīna
those who
ك-ف-ر
![]()
كَفَرُواْ
كَفَرُوْا
kafarū
disbelieve
ح-ق-ق
![]()
لِلۡحَقِّ
لِلْحَقِّ
lil'ḥaqqi
of the truth
ل-م-م-ا
![]()
لَمَّا
لَمَّا
lammā
when
ج-ي-ا
![]()
جَآءَهُمۡ
جَآءَهُمْ ۙ—
jāahum
it comes to them,
ه-ا-ذ
![]()
هَٰذَا
هٰذَا
hādhā
"This
س-ح-ر
![]()
سِحۡرٞ
سِحْرٌ
siḥ'run
(is) a magic
ب-ي-ن
![]()
مُّبِينٌ
مُّبِیْنٌ
mubīnun
clear."
And when Our clear signs are recited to them, scoffers say, when it comes to them, “This is obvious enchantment!”

am
Or
ق-و-ل

يَقُولُونَ
یَقُوْلُوْنَ
yaqūlūna
they say,
ف-ر-ي

ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ
افْتَرٰىهُ ؕ—
if'tarāhu
"He has invented it."
ق-و-ل
![]()
قُلۡ
قُلْ
qul
Say,
ا-ن
![]()
إِنِ
اِنِ
ini
"If
ف-ر-ي
![]()
ٱفۡتَرَيۡتُهُۥ
افْتَرَیْتُهٗ
if'taraytuhu
I have invented it
ل-ا
![]()
فَلَا
فَلَا
falā
then not
م-ل-ك
![]()
تَمۡلِكُونَ
تَمْلِكُوْنَ
tamlikūna
you have power
ل
![]()
لِي
لِیْ
lī
for me
م-ن
![]()
مِنَ
مِنَ
mina
against
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ش-ي-ا
![]()
شَيۡـًٔاۖ
شَیْـًٔا ؕ—
shayan
anything.
ه-و
![]()
هُوَ
هُوَ
huwa
He
ع-ل-م
![]()
أَعۡلَمُ
اَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
ب-م-ا
![]()
بِمَا
بِمَا
bimā
of what
ف-ي-ض
![]()
تُفِيضُونَ
تُفِیْضُوْنَ
tufīḍūna
you utter
ف-ي
![]()
فِيهِۚ
فِیْهِ ؕ—
fīhi
concerning it.
ك-ف-ي
![]()
كَفَىٰ
كَفٰی
kafā
Sufficient is He
ب
![]()
بِهِۦ
بِهٖ
bihi
Sufficient is He
ش-ه-د
![]()
شَهِيدَۢا
شَهِیْدًا
shahīdan
(as) a Witness
ب-ي-ن
![]()
بَيۡنِي
بَیْنِیْ
baynī
between me
ب-ي-ن
![]()
وَبَيۡنَكُمۡۖ
وَبَیْنَكُمْ ؕ—
wabaynakum
and between you,
ه-و
![]()
وَهُوَ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
غ-ف-ر
![]()
ٱلۡغَفُورُ
الْغَفُوْرُ
l-ghafūru
(is) the Oft-Forgiving,
ر-ح-م
![]()
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
الرَّحِیْمُ
r-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful.
Do they say, “He invented it”? Say, “If I invented it, then you are of no avail to me against God, who knows best what you’re dwelling on; God is sufficient as a witness between you and me. And God is the epitome of forgiveness and mercy.”

I am

bid'ʿan
a new (one)
م-ن

مِّنَ
مِّنَ
mina
among
ر-س-ل
![]()
ٱلرُّسُلِ
الرُّسُلِ
r-rusuli
the Messengers
م-ا
![]()
وَمَآ
وَمَاۤ
wamā
and not
د-ر-ي
![]()
أَدۡرِي
اَدْرِیْ
adrī
I know
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
what
ف-ع-ل
![]()
يُفۡعَلُ
یُفْعَلُ
yuf'ʿalu
will be done
ب
![]()
بِي
بِیْ
bī
with me
ل-ا
![]()
وَلَا
وَلَا
walā
and not
ب
![]()
بِكُمۡۖ
بِكُمْ ؕ—
bikum
with you.
ا-ن
![]()
إِنۡ
اِنْ
in
Not
ت-ب-ع
![]()
أَتَّبِعُ
اَتَّبِعُ
attabiʿu
I follow
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّا
اِلَّا
illā
but
م-ا
![]()
مَا
مَا
mā
what
و-ح-ي
![]()
يُوحَىٰٓ
یُوْحٰۤی
yūḥā
is revealed
ا-ل-ي
![]()
إِلَيَّ
اِلَیَّ
ilayya
to me
م-ا
![]()
وَمَآ
وَمَاۤ
wamā
and not
ا-ن-ا
![]()
أَنَا۠
اَنَا
anā
I am
ا-ل-ل-ا
![]()
إِلَّا
اِلَّا
illā
but
ن-ذ-ر
![]()
نَذِيرٞ
نَذِیْرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
ب-ي-ن
![]()
مُّبِينٞ
مُّبِیْنٌ
mubīnun
clear."
Say, “I am not first of the messengers, and I do not know what will be done with me, or with you. I do not follow but what has been revealed to me by inspiration, and I am nothing but a plain warner.”

"Do you see

it is
م-ن

مِنۡ
مِنْ
min
from Allah
ع-ن-د

عِندِ
عِنْدِ
ʿindi
from Allah
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهِ
اللّٰهِ
l-lahi
from Allah
ك-ف-ر
![]()
وَكَفَرۡتُم
وَكَفَرْتُمْ
wakafartum
and you disbelieve
ب
![]()
بِهِۦ
بِهٖ
bihi
in it,
ش-ه-د
![]()
وَشَهِدَ
وَشَهِدَ
washahida
and testifies
ش-ه-د
![]()
شَاهِدٞ
شَاهِدٌ
shāhidun
a witness
م-ن
![]()
مِّنۢ
مِّنْ
min
from
ب-ن-و
![]()
بَنِيٓ
بَنِیْۤ
banī
(the) Children of Israel
ا-س-ر
![]()
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
اِسْرَآءِیْلَ
is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
ع-ل-ي
![]()
عَلَىٰ
عَلٰی
ʿalā
to
م-ث-ل
![]()
مِثۡلِهِۦ
مِثْلِهٖ
mith'lihi
(the) like thereof,
ا-م-ن
![]()
فَـَٔامَنَ
فَاٰمَنَ
faāmana
then he believed
ك-ب-ر
![]()
وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡۚ
وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ ؕ—
wa-is'takbartum
while you are arrogant?"
ا-ن-ن
![]()
إِنَّ
اِنَّ
inna
Indeed,
ا-ل-ه
![]()
ٱللَّهَ
اللّٰهَ
l-laha
Allah
ل-ا
![]()
لَا
لَا
lā
(does) not
ه-د-ي
![]()
يَهۡدِي
یَهْدِی
yahdī
guide
ق-و-م
![]()
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
الْقَوْمَ
l-qawma
the people
ظ-ل-م
![]()
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
الظّٰلِمِیْنَ
ẓ-ẓālimīna
the wrongdoers.
Say, “See? If it is from God, yet you deny it, when a witness from the Israelites has testified to its like and believes, whereas you are too conceited; truly God does not guide people who’re unjust.”
