      16:1
      ا-ت-ي
      أَتَىٰٓ اَتٰۤی atā Will come
      ا-م-ر
      أَمۡرُ اَمْرُ amru (the) command of Allah
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi (the) command of Allah
      ل-ا
      فَلَا فَلَا falā so (do) not
      ع-ج-ل
      تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوهُۚ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْهُ ؕ— tastaʿjilūhu (be) impatient for it.
      س-ب-ح
      سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ سُبْحٰنَهٗ sub'ḥānahu Glorified is He
      ع-ل-و
      وَتَعَٰلَىٰ وَتَعٰلٰی wataʿālā and Exalted (is) He
      ع-م-م-ا
      عَمَّا عَمَّا ʿammā above what
      ش-ر-ك
      يُشۡرِكُونَ یُشْرِكُوْنَ yush'rikūna they associate.
      ١ ۟ (1)

      ​The order of God is coming; do not try to hasten it. Glory to God, exalted above their associations.

      ن-ز-ل
      يُنَزِّلُ یُنَزِّلُ yunazzilu He sends down
      م-ل-ك
      ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ الْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةَ l-malāikata the Angels
      ر-و-ح
      بِٱلرُّوحِ بِالرُّوْحِ bir-rūḥi with the inspiration
      م-ن
      مِنۡ مِنْ min of
      ا-م-ر
      أَمۡرِهِۦ اَمْرِهٖ amrihi His Command,
      ع-ل-ي
      عَلَىٰ عَلٰی ʿalā upon
      م-ن
      مَن مَنْ man whom
      ش-ي-ا
      يَشَآءُ یَّشَآءُ yashāu He wills
      م-ن
      مِنۡ مِنْ min of
      ع-ب-د
      عِبَادِهِۦٓ عِبَادِهٖۤ ʿibādihi His slaves,
      ا-ن
      أَنۡ اَنْ an that
      ن-ذ-ر
      أَنذِرُوٓاْ اَنْذِرُوْۤا andhirū "Warn
      ا-ن-ن
      أَنَّهُۥ اَنَّهٗ annahu that [He]
      ل-ا
      لَآ لَاۤ lā (there is) no
      ا-ل-ه
      إِلَٰهَ اِلٰهَ ilāha god
      ا-ل-ل-ا
      إِلَّآ اِلَّاۤ illā except
      ا-ن-ا
      أَنَا۠ اَنَا anā Me,
      و-ق-ي
      فَٱتَّقُونِ فَاتَّقُوْنِ fa-ittaqūni so fear Me."
      ٢ ۟ (2)

      ​God sends down the angels with the spirit from the divine order to any servant, at will: “Warn that there is no deity but Me; so be mindful of Me.

      16:3
      خ-ل-ق
      خَلَقَ خَلَقَ khalaqa He created
      س-م-و
      ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ السَّمٰوٰتِ s-samāwāti the heavens
      ا-ر-ض
      وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَالْاَرْضَ wal-arḍa and the earth,
      ح-ق-ق
      بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ بِالْحَقِّ ؕ— bil-ḥaqi in truth.
      ع-ل-و
      تَعَٰلَىٰ تَعٰلٰی taʿālā Exalted is He
      ع-م-م-ا
      عَمَّا عَمَّا ʿammā above what
      ش-ر-ك
      يُشۡرِكُونَ یُشْرِكُوْنَ yush'rikūna they associate.
      ٣ ۟ (3)

      ​God created the heavens and the earth rightly; God is exalted above the associations they attribute.

      خ-ل-ق
      خَلَقَ خَلَقَ khalaqa He created
      ا-ن-س
      ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ الْاِنْسَانَ l-insāna the human kind
      م-ن
      مِن مِنْ min from
      ن-ط-ف
      نُّطۡفَةٖ نُّطْفَةٍ nuṭ'fatin a minute quantity of
      ا-ذ-ا
      فَإِذَا فَاِذَا fa-idhā then behold,
      ه-و
      هُوَ هُوَ huwa he
      خ-ص-م
      خَصِيمٞ خَصِیْمٌ khaṣīmun (is) an opponent
      ب-ي-ن
      مُّبِينٞ مُّبِیْنٌ mubīnun clear.
      ٤ ۟ (4)

      ​God created the human being from a drop; and lo, he is an open antagonist!

      16:5
      ن-ع-م
      وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمَ وَالْاَنْعَامَ wal-anʿāma And the cattle,
      خ-ل-ق
      خَلَقَهَاۖ خَلَقَهَا ۚ— khalaqahā He created them
      ل
      لَكُمۡ لَكُمْ lakum for you,
      ف-ي
      فِيهَا فِیْهَا fīhā in them
      د-ف-ا
      دِفۡءٞ دِفْءٌ dif'on (is) warmth
      ن-ف-ع
      وَمَنَٰفِعُ وَّمَنَافِعُ wamanāfiʿu and benefits
      م-ن
      وَمِنۡهَا وَمِنْهَا wamin'hā and from them
      ا-ك-ل
      تَأۡكُلُونَ تَاْكُلُوْنَ takulūna you eat.
      ٥ ۟ (5)

      ​And God created the cattle, wherein are warmth and advantages for you, and from which you eat.

      ل
      وَلَكُمۡ وَلَكُمْ walakum And for you
      ف-ي
      فِيهَا فِیْهَا fīhā in them
      ج-م-ل
      جَمَالٌ جَمَالٌ jamālun (is) beauty
      ح-ي-ن
      حِينَ حِیْنَ ḥīna when
      ر-و-ح
      تُرِيحُونَ تُرِیْحُوْنَ turīḥūna you bring them in
      ح-ي-ن
      وَحِينَ وَحِیْنَ waḥīna and when
      س-ر-ح
      تَسۡرَحُونَ تَسْرَحُوْنَ tasraḥūna you take them out.
      ٦ ۪۟ (6)

      ​And you find beauty in them when you drive them home in the evening and when you lead them to pasture in the morning.

      ح-م-ل
      وَتَحۡمِلُ وَتَحْمِلُ wataḥmilu And they carry
      ث-ق-ل
      أَثۡقَالَكُمۡ اَثْقَالَكُمْ athqālakum your loads
      ا-ل-ي
      إِلَىٰ اِلٰی ilā to
      ب-ل-د
      بَلَدٖ بَلَدٍ baladin a land
      ل-م
      لَّمۡ لَّمْ lam not
      ك-و-ن
      تَكُونُواْ تَكُوْنُوْا takūnū you could
      ب-ل-غ
      بَٰلِغِيهِ بٰلِغِیْهِ bālighīhi reach it
      ا-ل-ل-ا
      إِلَّا اِلَّا illā except
      ش-ق-ق
      بِشِقِّ بِشِقِّ bishiqqi with great trouble
      ن-ف-س
      ٱلۡأَنفُسِۚ الْاَنْفُسِ ؕ— l-anfusi (to) yourselves.
      ا-ن-ن
      إِنَّ اِنَّ inna Indeed,
      ر-ب-ب
      رَبَّكُمۡ رَبَّكُمْ rabbakum your Lord
      ر-ا-ف
      لَرَءُوفٞ لَرَءُوْفٌ laraūfun surely is Most Kind,
      ر-ح-م
      رَّحِيمٞ رَّحِیْمٌ raḥīmun Most Merciful.
      ٧ ۟ۙ (7)

      ​And they carry your burdens to territory you would not have reached without troubling your selves. Your Lord is indeed compassionate, merciful.

      16:8
      خ-ي-ل
      وَٱلۡخَيۡلَ وَّالْخَیْلَ wal-khayla And horses
      ب-غ-ل
      وَٱلۡبِغَالَ وَالْبِغَالَ wal-bighāla and mules
      ح-م-ر
      وَٱلۡحَمِيرَ وَالْحَمِیْرَ wal-ḥamīra and donkeys
      ر-ك-ب
      لِتَرۡكَبُوهَا لِتَرْكَبُوْهَا litarkabūhā for you to ride them
      ز-ي-ن
      وَزِينَةٗۚ وَزِیْنَةً ؕ— wazīnatan and (as) adornment.
      خ-ل-ق
      وَيَخۡلُقُ وَیَخْلُقُ wayakhluqu And He creates
      م-ا
      مَا مَا mā what
      ل-ا
      لَا لَا lā not
      ع-ل-م
      تَعۡلَمُونَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ taʿlamūna you know.
      ٨ ۟ (8)

      ​And God created horses, and mules, and donkeys, for you to ride, and for adornment; and God creates what you don’t know.

      ع-ل-ي
      وَعَلَى وَعَلَی waʿalā And upon
      ا-ل-ه
      ٱللَّهِ اللّٰهِ l-lahi Allah
      ق-ص-د
      قَصۡدُ قَصْدُ qaṣdu (is) the direction
      س-ب-ل
      ٱلسَّبِيلِ السَّبِیْلِ s-sabīli (of) the way,
      م-ن
      وَمِنۡهَا وَمِنْهَا wamin'hā and among them
      ج-و-ر
      جَآئِرٞۚ جَآىِٕرٌ ؕ— jāirun (are) crooked.
      ل-و
      وَلَوۡ وَلَوْ walaw And if
      ش-ي-ا
      شَآءَ شَآءَ shāa He willed,
      ه-د-ي
      لَهَدَىٰكُمۡ لَهَدٰىكُمْ lahadākum surely He would have guided you
      ج-م-ع
      أَجۡمَعِينَ اَجْمَعِیْنَ ajmaʿīna all.
      ٩ ۟۠ (9)

      ​The aim of the path is up to God; but there is the deviant from it, though God would surely have guided you all were that the divine will.

      ه-و
      هُوَ هُوَ huwa He
      ا-ل-ل-ذ
      ٱلَّذِيٓ الَّذِیْۤ alladhī (is) the One Who
      ن-ز-ل
      أَنزَلَ اَنْزَلَ anzala sends down
      م-ن
      مِنَ مِنَ mina from
      س-م-و
      ٱلسَّمَآءِ السَّمَآءِ s-samāi the sky
      م-و-ه
      مَآءٗۖ مَآءً māan water
      ل
      لَّكُم لَّكُمْ lakum for you
      م-ن
      مِّنۡهُ مِّنْهُ min'hu of it
      ش-ر-ب
      شَرَابٞ شَرَابٌ sharābun (is) drink,
      م-ن
      وَمِنۡهُ وَّمِنْهُ wamin'hu and from it
      ش-ج-ر
      شَجَرٞ شَجَرٌ shajarun (grows) vegetation
      ف-ي
      فِيهِ فِیْهِ fīhi in which
      س-و-م
      تُسِيمُونَ تُسِیْمُوْنَ tusīmūna you pasture your cattle.
      ١٠ ۟ (10)

      ​God is the one who sends you down water from the sky, from which there is drink, and vegetation for grazing.
